Cottenham Baptist Church

Cottenham Baptist Church We are a small family church seeking to communicate the love of God and make Jesus known. Come along, we’d love to see you.

As a community of people we are inclusive of all and commit to walking through the ups and downs of life together. We are a small, friendly church seeking to serve God in the community where we live. We are seeking to be a community of people, inclusive of all, who commit to walking through the ups and downs of life together. We believe in an inclusive church that does not discriminate and seeks t

o welcome everyone as Jesus did. We believe that God’s unconditional love reaches out to all people and that every person is loved and equal before God. We welcome everyone, especially those who have known exclusion and discrimination in church or in society in the past. We are followers of Christ and aim to support each other as we try to live out the love, welcome, and grace of God in our everyday lives. We have a range of different perspectives on faith, theology and the Bible, but we commit to love and respect each other on our journey of faith, seeking to keep Jesus at the centre of all we do and say. We usually meet at 10.30am every Sunday, and alongside our weekly service we also have small group meetings, prayer meetings, and social gatherings.

The children were on the ball when it came to spotting the link between all of the team logos…they all included a cross - the symbol for first aid and rescue.
Christians also use a cross to remember that God sent Jesus as our rescuer, especially at Easter time.

Kate told the story today about a sheep wandering off today (with much barr-ing and munching of grass). Even though the shepherd still had plenty of sheep in his flock (99 to be precise) he went to find the lost sheep and carried it back to safety.
God loves us when we wander off or get distracted.

Today the children decorated picture frames with mosaics as a reminder of our broken world, but the designs also included hearts because God still loves us so much, even when we make mistakes or ignore him.

Oh no! Kate ‘pruned’ her plant too much, even after she had received instructions to leave it alone

we watched the Lego story of how people ignored God’s instructions

and David didn’t follow the children’s instructions about preparing for his mountain adventure.

We are learning why the beautiful world God made and said was very good, is broken and not so good anymore… but that’s not the end of the story
