Cottenham Baptist Church

Cottenham Baptist Church We are a small family church seeking to communicate the love of God and make Jesus known. Come along, we’d love to see you.

As a community of people we are inclusive of all and commit to walking through the ups and downs of life together. We are a small, friendly church seeking to serve God in the community where we live. We are seeking to be a community of people, inclusive of all, who commit to walking through the ups and downs of life together. We believe in an inclusive church that does not discriminate and seeks t

o welcome everyone as Jesus did. We believe that God’s unconditional love reaches out to all people and that every person is loved and equal before God. We welcome everyone, especially those who have known exclusion and discrimination in church or in society in the past. We are followers of Christ and aim to support each other as we try to live out the love, welcome, and grace of God in our everyday lives. We have a range of different perspectives on faith, theology and the Bible, but we commit to love and respect each other on our journey of faith, seeking to keep Jesus at the centre of all we do and say. We usually meet at 10.30am every Sunday, and alongside our weekly service we also have small group meetings, prayer meetings, and social gatherings.

"If only someone cared for me that much!"

That was the wish of the walker who had seen how much the farmer loved the lost sheep, who had left the 99 to search high and low for him, and was over-joyed when he found him.

The moment of realisation, that God does indeed care for us, and loves us beyond anything we can image!

On Sunday some of the GenR8 team will be leading our all-age service, as we consider the last parable of our summer series - The Lost Sheep.

Not only will we worship together, but we will also get the chance to experience first-hand some of the activities which GenR8 use in schools.

It promises to be fun and prayerful, so come and join us if you can.

Sometimes life is like a storm and can feel overwhelming

We can pray and ask for peace - peace that goes beyond anything we can understand (Philippians 4:6-8)

Like the bird in this picture, who is was completely at peace while the storm was raging around him

This is one of the takeaways from Patrick Regan's book , which the CBC Book Club just finished reading - and we highly recommend it!

When we look at a familiar parable, like the wise and foolish builders, it's interesting to look beyond our usual reading of the story.

Alison Day lead out service yesterday, and gave us a challenge to really understand what are our foundations and how are they supporting us in our journey through life.

Have you contemplated what you are building on?
