One whole year has passed since the truly unforgettable UK Book Launch of Nicolae Steinhardt’s ‘Journal of Joy’ (‘Jurnalul fericirii’) – the first official English translation of this Romanian classic, published in 2024 by St Vladimir's Seminary Press (SVS Press) (Yonkers, NY). IOCS Cambridge, in partnership with Ambasada României în Regatul Unit al Marii Britanii şi Irlandei de Nord and the Romanian Cultural Institute in London hosted this momentous event in London, 1 Belgrave Square to celebrate this long-awaited publication.

There were profound and memorable speeches from the special guests of the evening, particularly from the giant of theology and culture that is Rt Revd Rowan Williams (former Archbishop of Canterbury) but also from Revd Prof. Bogdan Bucur, who represented the publisher, St Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary, where he serves as Associate Professor of Patristics. Dr Razvan Porumb, Vice-Principal of IOCS gave an introductory short presentation on Nicolae Steinhardt, while the Principal of the Institute, Father Dragoș Herescu served as moderator throughout the event and read a message from His Eminence Archbishop Atanasie of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Also present at the event were Her Excellency Ambassador Laura Popescu, Aura Woodward, Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute, Dr Alex Tudorie, President of Saint Vladimir's Seminary, Father Archimandrite Motogna Macarie, Abott of the Rohia Monastery (where Father Nicolae spent his monastic years) and prominent Steinhardt scholar Dr Florian Roatiș.
