Who will come?

Despite its rich Christian heritage, the vast majority of the UK doesn’t follow Jesus. Now, the need to share the gospel message with our own neighbours and communities is as important as ever. In multi-ethnic cities around the UK, our Engage workers are doing just that – and they’re seeing God move in amazing ways.

On Saturday we took our Jesus Across Borders to Belfast, where we had a fantastic time hearing how God's been at work through the SIM community serving in and sent from Northern Ireland.

It was encouraging to connect with prayerful supporters who are deeply invested in SIM (some for nearly 50 years!), as well as those in the initial stages of exploring what God might have planned for them in the years to come.

We’ll be taking a break from the tour over the summer as we attend festivals and events around the country, but keep an eye out for more information about where we’ll be visiting next soon!

If we asked you to think about what a mission organisation does, you’re probably picturing an agency involved in the process of sending mission workers overseas. Naturally, this is a key part of the work here at SIM – but it’s not the whole story.

We sat down with some of our mission workers serving in cross-cultural ministries right here in the UK to find out what serving in a country with such a diverse cultural landscape looks like, and how they're seeing God at work.
