A Prayer for the New School Year
God, as a new school year begins, we place our students, teachers, school staff, and families in Your hands.
For every student stepping into something new, give them courage when they feel nervous, confidence when they doubt themselves, and friendships that make them feel seen and welcome.
For every teacher and member of staff, give them wisdom, patience, strength, and compassion. Remind them that the work they do matters, even on the days when it feels unseen.
For every parent and caregiver watching their children take another step forward, bring peace to the worries they carry and grace for all the changes this season may bring.
Protect them as they come and go. Provide what is needed, sometimes in ways we cannot yet see. Open the right doors, close the ones that are not meant for them, and let Your will be done in every plan, opportunity, challenge, and unexpected moment.
And for anyone beginning this year feeling uncertain about what they believe or what lies ahead, may they discover that they don’t have to have everything figured out to take the next step.
May our schools be places where people feel safe, valued, encouraged, and given room to grow.
Here’s to a new school year filled with grace for the hard days, gratitude for the good ones, and hope for everything still to come.
