A reminder to all parents that in order to keep your children safe and ensure they have a good time we may need to cap the number of young people attending youth club on a given night. This will be based upon the number of leaders and space in the building. Please do not leave your child outside until you can be sure they are signed in. Every child will need to have a form filled out before entering youth club next week, current or new. Your child must always sign out with a leader before leaving the building and have permission to leave on their own if not being picked up.

Just to recap the rules of youth club are to respect each other, respect the leaders and respect the building and we expect all young people to follow these every week.

Numbers Cap Tonight - Important

Hi everyone,

We’ve taken a tough decision to cap numbers tonight at FBC Youth Club. Last week we had 72 young people in the building, and the experience for our young people was less than it should have been.

With that many young people, it becomes far harder to manage the space, even with the correct amount of leaders for our safeguarding ratios. Despite calling in our backup team last week, we still felt that too many young people were in the building.

For the safety of your young people and our team, and also to protect the experience of young people on a Monday night, we are going to cap tonight’s session at 60 young people.

I hope your young people will understand that this is not a punishment, rather it is to keep everyone safe and offer the best night we can to everyone.

Please make sure that your young people are here in plenty of time to have the best chance of getting in. If we are unable to let your young person in, we will need to send them home again with you, so please don’t drive off until they are past the registration desk having signed in.

Please also note that the segment of Balmoral Drive outside FBC is now closed for the Esso Pipeline works, so you will need to follow the diversion route through Peel Avenue.

We will be discussing as a youth team tomorrow night how to handle capping numbers going forward, but for tonight we needed to set a temporary cap at 60. I hope you’ll understand that we need to keep everyone safe and offer the best experience we can.

Tonight we did sparklers, hot dogs, and soup for Guy Fawkes Night, and somehow we all ended up getting our faces painted! 😂

Year 8 plus? Thinking of booking in for Satellites? It pays to do it sooner rather than later. This year we’re accepting payment in instalments to make it easier during the cost of living crisis. We can also help if you’d love to come but financial circumstances make that more of a challenge for you. Please don’t hesitate to ask.

It appears we had an issue with our emails over the weekend. I am currently sending this to parents one by one in emails, but please share as I'd hate for young people to miss out on this trip!
