St Brigid’s Church, St Brides Netherwent

St Brigid’s Church, St Brides Netherwent St Brigid’s (St Brides) Church part of the Netherwent Ministry Area in Monmouthshire. A small rural parish offering a big warm welcome to all.

10/09/2026

⏰️With just over a week to go until our Vision and Purpose Day, we thought we would remind you of what we can look forward to! 😊

'We are excited to come together and spend some time reflecting both as a ministry area and as individual churches. We will have time to consider where we are and where God might want us to go next. We are delighted that we will be joined by Lead Academy – who will help us consider our values, our purpose, and our vision for the future.
Lunch will be provided. We encourage folk to share cars because parking is £5 per car – or free if you are a RSPB member.
For catering purposes, please contact Faye at [email protected] to confirm your attendance by Wednesday 9th September. We look forward to seeing you there!'

For smaller rural churches such as St Brides, there are real benefits from being part of a larger Ministry Area. Having access to the skilled resources that will help to create a roadmap for the future is something we would struggle to do on our own and being part of a much larger entity really helps to amplify and extend what we can do. Aristotle's assertion that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts is very much true in this case.

Everyone is invited to come along to this session on 19th Sept (just let Faye in the MA office know that you will be coming).

If you can't make it but want to put forward thoughts or ideas, just catch Janet or Tryphena and share your views. We will make sure they are added to the mix.

Our service today follows Fun in the Field and will be at 3pm outside in the Field. It should be lovely temperate 21 degrees!

It’s a whole Minstry Area service (there are no services in the MA this morning apart from 8am Eucharist at Caldicot so visitors can access churches for our fun treasure hunt, Pews and Clues). It will be followed by tea and coffee and cake and plenty of opportunity to chat and relax.

Everyone is welcome - please join us.

To be in with a chance of winning some great prizes you just have to visit 3 or more of Netherwent’s churches, stamp your passport or answer sheet in each and either bring your sheet or passport to St Brides for Fun in the Field on Sunday or leave it in the special boxes in Caerwent, Magor, Caldicot or Nash churches.
