The Festival of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated across the Parish yesterday in solidarity with St Mary’s Church. The flowers chosen at St Mary’s were blue – the colour always associated with Mary – whilst at St John’s, the chosen colour was gold, the liturgical colour for all Church Festivals. Bishop Jack, who was presiding, also wore gold-coloured vestments.

We had a lovely service at St Mary's this morning to celebrate our Patronal Festival. There was a very thought provoking meditation linked to Derek's address, and delivered by three of the ladies from the congregation. Music was led by our instrumental music group. The flowers were excellent, and our thanks go as ever to Joan and Natalie for all their hard work.
