It was a full house for our last session of the school year this morning - how wonderful to have all of our Stay & Play friends together! We had a busy time finding things on our list to point to πŸ‘‰ and making bejewelled reading pointers. In our Together Time, we learned how all the true stories from the Bible that we've been hearing this term, from Adam and Eve 🍊all the way to Jonah 🐟, are like big signposts pointing to Jesus and God's amazing plan to make a way for us to be friends with him again. ✝️

As well as the usual fun and friendship, we said some goodbyes to the children who will be moving up to school/nursery (and their parents/carers) and to a family who are moving away from Buxton. πŸ‘‹ We hope you all continue to flourish in your new settings - do keep in touch!

😊 We are so thankful for the time that we got to spend with our wonderful families this year and for the kind gifts we received today. We look forward to being back in September. Happy Holidays! β˜€οΈ

There was something fishy going on at Stay & Play this morning! 🐟 Our little friends had great fun being like Jonah in the belly of a big fish and making a craft to help tell the story. In our Together Time, we heard from the Bible the true story of how Jonah didn’t want to pass on God's warning to the people of Nineveh, so he ran away to sea. 🌊 When God sent a big storm to stop Jonah, God also sent a big fish to save him when the sailors threw him overboard. God also saved the sailors and the Ninevites, who finally heard God's warning and turned back to him. God is a wonderful Rescuer! 🀩

⚠️ Watch out! There are lions about! 🦁 We had so much fun this morning with 'lions' den' sensory bins and Playmobil set, but the mane attraction was the craft table. A whole pride of fabulous roaring lions was created!
Today, we heard the Bible story of Daniel, who continued to trust God and pray to him πŸ™, even when the law said you could only pray to the king. Daniel was thrown into a den of lions, but God kept him safe by closing the lions' mouths. Wow, God is amazing! 🀩

We had BIG fun at Stay and Play this morning.
Today's activities included sorting objects by size, some threading and counting to make a pouch for 5 'stones' (pom poms) and a giant height chart. πŸ“ In our story time, we heard about when God helped little David defeat giant Goliath with just a well-aimed stone. Goliath may have been big, but God is the BIGGEST, and he is able to defeat our biggest enemy, too - our sin that means we can't be friends with him. 🀩

😊 As the temperature rose outside this morning, we enjoyed a lovely, cool morning in the hall at Stay & Play.
We had lots of fun with pasta sensory play (some great developing fine motor skills on display 🀏), made some fabulous wheat pictures 🌾and all got involved at story time, gleaning wheat from Boaz's field. Today, we heard the true Bible story of Ruth and learned that God provided food, a new home, and a new family for Ruth, who chose to follow God. In this story, we saw that God is so kind, and he welcomes everyone who puts their trust in him.

Wow! What a busy morning! We had another smashing time at Stay & Play today, quite literally as we acted out this week's true story from the Bible. πŸ˜ƒ We heard how God made a way for Joshua and the people of God to get into the city of Jericho, which was surrounded by a big, strong city wall. They followed God's plan, which involved a lot of marching πŸ₯Ύ and a lot of trumpet-blowing πŸ“―, and God made the walls fall down. 🧱 He gave his people a special place to live, just as he had promised. 😊 What a powerful and faithful God!

Hair gel, sequins and lots of active children... no, not a dance show, just another morning at Stay & Play! 😁

Today, we made a path to cross the sea and made our own ocean sensory bags as we thought about the true Bible story of God's amazing rescue of his people from Egypt. We heard (and acted out) that God's people were trapped between the sea and angry Pharaoh's army, but when Moses put his staff in the water, God parted the sea to make a dry path for them the cross to safety. πŸŒŠπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒŠ Wow! God saved his people in a miraculous way - God is amazing!

πŸ˜ƒ It was so good to be back at Stay & Play this morning after the half-term break. We had lots of water play fun as we did some experimenting to find out what floats and what sinks πŸ’¦, and we made some fabulous 3D pictures of today's true story from the Bible.

In our Together Time, we learned about how God protected baby Moses from the bad Egyptian king who didn't like God's people and wanted to get rid of their baby boys. How amazing that God had a plan to rescue his people and he looked after baby Moses so he could be a part of that plan when he grew up! 🫢 (To be continued next week....πŸ‘‰)

It was grey outside this morning but fabulously colourful inside at Stay & Play. 🌈

This week's true story from the Bible was about Joseph. We had fun with colours, sorting them in the Tuff tray and making 'technicolour' coats on the craft table. At story time, we also heard that Joseph went through some very difficult times in his life, but wonderfully, God was in control and looking after him. God can be trusted, even when life is messy and hard.

πŸ– We're not sure how many grains of sand we had fun playing with this morning, but from the way they spread everywhere, it was an immeasurably large number! πŸ˜„ There were also too many stars to count under our night-time table. ⭐️
We heard today about the wonderful promises that God made to Abraham, including more descendants than grains of sand on the shore or stars in the sky. ⭐️ God is a Promise Maker AND a Promise Keeper - everything that he promises will happen. πŸ˜ƒ
