😃 It was so good to be back at Stay & Play this morning after the half-term break. We had lots of water play fun as we did some experimenting to find out what floats and what sinks 💦, and we made some fabulous 3D pictures of today's true story from the Bible.

In our Together Time, we learned about how God protected baby Moses from the bad Egyptian king who didn't like God's people and wanted to get rid of their baby boys. How amazing that God had a plan to rescue his people and he looked after baby Moses so he could be a part of that plan when he grew up! 🫶 (To be continued next week....👉)

It was grey outside this morning but fabulously colourful inside at Stay & Play. 🌈

This week's true story from the Bible was about Joseph. We had fun with colours, sorting them in the Tuff tray and making 'technicolour' coats on the craft table. At story time, we also heard that Joseph went through some very difficult times in his life, but wonderfully, God was in control and looking after him. God can be trusted, even when life is messy and hard.

🏖 We're not sure how many grains of sand we had fun playing with this morning, but from the way they spread everywhere, it was an immeasurably large number! 😄 There were also too many stars to count under our night-time table. ⭐️
We heard today about the wonderful promises that God made to Abraham, including more descendants than grains of sand on the shore or stars in the sky. ⭐️ God is a Promise Maker AND a Promise Keeper - everything that he promises will happen. 😃

Our little friends were busy builders today, making tall towers on the craft table, in the Tuff tray and at story time. 🧱

This morning, we heard the true Bible story about the people who wanted to build a tower that went all the way up to heaven so that everyone would see how great they were. God wasn't happy that they were acting as if they no longer needed him, so he mixed up their language. Then, when they talked to each other, everyone was confused and they had to stop building. 💬🤔 God showed that he is the greatest!

It's important to us that all of our S&P friends feel like they belong, feel comfortable at our sessions, and are able to engage with each week's teaching. To that end, we've got some new things on our windowsill this term:

🎧 a sensory support kit for anyone who might need it during our sessions;

🙏 a box where you can let us know of things you'd like us to pray about for you (if you'd rather not tell us in person);

💰 and a storybag with an adapted book of the session's Bible story and some props to help communicate it.

Please feel free to use these things as you need, and do let us know if there's anything else we can be doing to support you & your family.

🧔🔨🛶🦁‍🐷🐵🐼🌧🌧🌧☀️🌈 It's not too hard to guess which true story from the Bible we were thinking about today at Stay & Play! We had lots of animal-related fun, but we also learned that the story of Noah's ark is about more than a big boat full of animals. Because all the people had forgotten about God and were doing bad things all the time, God decided to wash the world clean with a big flood. 💦 God was so kind to rescue Noah & his family, along with the animals. Wonderfully, the story of Noah is a glimpse of the even bigger rescue that God offers each of us. ✝🤩

Hooray for Tuesdays! We're so thankful for the fun we get to have together at Stay & Play and for the friendships we enjoy there. 🥰

Today, we continued our journey through the beginning of the Bible as we heard about a sneaky snake 🐍 and a big mistake 😔. It's a sad story which helps us understand what's wrong with the world. In God's garden, Adam & Eve listened to the snake's lies about God and broke the only rule they'd been given. ❌ Their bad choice meant they couldn't be friends with God anymore and it spoiled everything. 👎 Wonderfully, though, God gave Adam & Eve a promise that one day he would send a Rescuer who would deal with this huge problem and make a way for people to be friends with God again. Thank you God for sending Jesus to be the serpent-crusher! 😃

How brilliant to be back together again today for another fun morning of friendship and play! 😃 We were so busy catching up, we forgot to take photos!

This term, we're going right back to the start of God's special book, the Bible. Today, we started with the very first people. We heard that God made Adam and gave him the job of looking after the garden and naming the animals, but he didn't have a friend because the animals weren't like him. 😔 So, God made a friend for Adam, a woman whom Adam named Eve. She was just the right friend for Adam because she was a person like him. 😄 Adam and Eve loved each other and they took care of the garden together. Wow! Wasn’t God kind to make just the right friend for Adam?!

We also had fun learning a new theme song for this term, '10, 9, 8 God is Great' by With actions, clapping and a fantastic Blast Off! 🚀at the end, we're going to have a great time singing this each week. If you'd like to sing along at home, you can find it on Spotify - click the link below.

Happy Easter, Stay & Play friends!

We've had such fun this term with our sessions on the first Easter. We've learned how God showed how much he loves us by sending his Son, Jesus, to make a way for us to be friends with him again. Today, we celebrate the new, forever life that Jesus won for us by his death and resurrection.

We hope you have a wonderful day, however you are spending it. ❤️
