Our friends at Urban Outreach in Bolton are recruiting for an 'Adult Services Support Worker' and a 'Children and Families Support Worker'. All the details are copied below. Closing date : 12th May.

Do you want to make a positive difference to the lives of people who are really struggling?
We are looking for 2 compassionate, highly motivated and skilled individuals to join our Adult Services Team in our Eve’s Space Project and our Children and Families Team in our RUNA Project.
Eve’s Space is our Women-led service providing a clear gendered approach in supporting the women we work with through a safe, trauma informed approach. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate women's worker to join us.
RUNA focuses on supporting families, children, and young people who are affected by periods of missing from home and the risks associated. The job involves empowering young people to have a voice and to be listened to through the delivery of independent return interviews. RUNA provides bespoke, one-to-one support, and contributes to a multi-agency safeguarding response.
The successful candidates for both positions will be passionate about developing our work in providing life-transformational support to those afflicted by poverty and disadvantage in our town, as a practical expression of the Christian faith we share. They will help individuals to develop strategies to overcome the difficulties they are facing, make positive lifestyle changes to reduce the risk of further issues arising, and to live healthy, safe and rewarding lives.
Ideally, this position is full-time(35hrs per week), however part-time may be considered. Following the probationary period, the full-time salary for this position is £24,486 pa.

Over the last few years I have channelled Brian Blessed in my Easter services. (Apparently I look like him, and sound like him.) Easter isn't a flash in the pan, but has been reminding us for 2000 years that Jesus has defeated the Second Law of Thermodynamics. He has risen!

It’s not just tradition—it’s a quiet act of resistance against division, a reminder that community still matters in a fractured world. Different churches walk side by side, showing that unity is possible, that love is stronger than labels, and that no one walks alone. t’s now just under a month until our annual Good Friday Walk of Witness, a meaningful moment in our calendar when we come together as a community to reflect, remember, and publicly share the message at the heart of Good Friday.

This walk is more than just a tradition—it’s a visible expression of faith and unity. As we move through our streets, we join with Christians across the world in recalling the journey of Jesus to the cross, taking time to pause, pray, and bear witness to His sacrifice. It’s also an opportunity to connect with others in our local area, offering a gentle, welcoming presence and a reminder of hope.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be preparing for this special occasion—finalising details, encouraging participation, and inviting friends, neighbours, and fellow churches to join us. Whether you’ve taken part before or are considering joining for the first time, everyone is welcome.

Let’s look ahead with anticipation as we prepare our hearts and our community for this important act of shared witness.
