Trigger warning: Baby loss

The Cathedral Tower will be lit orange and purple on Wednesday 17 June for Sands Awareness Week. Sands is the UK's leading pregnancy and baby loss charity. They are here to support everyone touched by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

Every day in the UK, 13 babies die shortly before, during or soon after birth. At least 1 in 6 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Thousands of parents and families experience the heartbreak of pregnancy and baby loss every year in the UK.

West Suffolk Sands hold several support groups each month. They offer support to parents and wider family members. You can contact them on: [email protected]
Or follow on facebook West Suffolk Sands

We are thrilled to celebrate the appointment of 10 tour guides who have become accredited with the white badge approved by the Institute of Tourist Guiding (ITG). Guides training was undertaken in partnership with Bury St Edmunds Tours and all our students passed! The Dean presented (most of) them with their certificates and badges in a small ceremony in the Cathedral last week.

It's Not Just Policy, It's Personal is a National Church of England campaign to raise awareness of how to recognise and report safeguarding concerns. Safeguarding in the Church of England is not simply about compliance with guidance or completing the right forms. It is about people and for those of us who seek to follow Jesus, it is about how we live our faith. It’s Not Just Policy, It’s Personal is a timely reminder that at the heart of every safeguarding concern is a human being who has taken a brave and often costly step in speaking about harm.
