THE BIG CHURCH DAY OUT Ended early when a large sign fell and killed a Church Pastor from Eastbourne, with serious injuries suffered by a few others. We pray for those who who have been affected in any way and of course for the family of that Pastor. We pray for the group of Churches he was a part of, for wisdom and protection during this time of loss and change. There have been the now all too commonplace hurtful and sarcastic comments over social media. Some, even Christians, using the moment to air political views, conspiracy theories (about how Christians are not so supported by Government 'like other religions'). These comments ignore the pain and agony of those who have lost, and those affected by this terrible tragedy. Can you also imagine what the organisers are going through, the sign contractors, the individuals who erected the sign. So what should are response be, how should we comment? Well, we turn to the Bible. Psalms 34:18 shows us God's heart: The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. We see Jesus's reaction in the face of loss recorded in John 11:35 (31-36) When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” And then we see how us onlookers are to be. Romans 12:9-16 begins with these words, Love (AGAPE) must be sincere and from verse 15, one of the expressions of Agape Love instructs us to Mourn with those who mourn. And so we pray.

Our Pastor says, "This Sunday's service will be a little shorter and be followed by PRAYER MATTERS. We'll probably do a little bit of everything - praying as a group, praying in smaller groups and praying at the same time with some lead prayers. Who knows, we shall see!" We look forward to welcoming you.

This was remiss of me.

We invited our lovely local community to make triangles (flags? What *are* they called?!) for bunting for our patio area, and I haven't shown you them!

Well, didn't everyone do a lovely job? Our thanks to Carol for sowing them together, and for Peter and team for painting our fence. Thanks also to those who have donated the patio furniture here.

We have some planters to go out once it's a bit cooler. Thanks to Stephen for purchasing them on our behalf, and Steve and Andrew who will be planting them for us.

Our patio is open whenever the IC Centre is open; it's a lovely, secure courtyard area for you to enjoy.
