Bury St Edmunds Seventh-day Adventist Church

Bury St Edmunds Seventh-day Adventist Church Situated on Fornham Road, in Bury St. Edmunds, this building is over 104 years old. The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another.

It is a Grade 2 Listed Building and was (and stillis) fondly known as “The Tin Tabernacle.” Built as a Railway Mission Hall, it was used for that purpose for over 90 years. The seventh day of the week, Saturday, is observed as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus. We joyfully observe this holy time from Friday evening to Saturday evening, from s

unset to sunset, as a celebration of God's creative and redemptive acts. A series of answers to questions on Adventist beliefs are available on the the headquarters website of the Seventh-day Adventist church in the UK & Ireland www.adventistinfo.org.uk/about/answers.php

A free Bible Correspondence course that will help explain our beliefs more fully is available from the Adventist Discovery Centre http://www.discoveronline.org.uk/courses.php

🌍🎉 African World Heritage Day Celebration at Bury St. Edmunds SDA Church
“Celebrating Our Heritage, Honouring Our God”

On Sabbath 10th May, our church family came together for a joyful and Spirit-filled celebration of African heritage! 🇿🇲🇿🇼🇿🇦🇳🇬🇲🇼🇦🇴

The day began with a powerful message from Sister Vivian Jere (Area 8 Prison Ministry Director) titled “When Things Go From Bad to Worse” (Mark 5:21–42). Juliet McLeary read the scripture, and Elizabeth Bruce shared a children’s story introducing Prison Ministry with compassion and care.

After a delicious African fellowship lunch, we enjoyed an inspiring afternoon program led by Valdeiza Costa featuring music, testimonies, a quiz, and presentations about the Adventist Church in Africa. We learned from Tiwonge (Malawi), Liona (Zimbabwe), Pearl (South Africa), Mulenga (Zambia), Elizabeth (Nigeria), and Phiona (Angola). The Zimbabwe music group (Liona, Mary & Phiona) brought joy with vibrant praise in their native language! 🎶

The church was beautifully decorated, everyone looked amazing in traditional attire, and guests received a lovely bookmark with Psalm 24:1 🌿 and a colourful leaflet about African culture and Christian roots.

A day to remember—celebrating our identity in Christ and the beauty of our heritage. 💛✝️
