St Modwen's has hardly any parish, and is developing a town centre presence. St Paul's and St Aidan's serve the area between railway and Trent and Mersey canal, and the neighbourhood along the Shobnall road out towards Abbots Bromley. St Modwen's, DE13 1HA, is a Grade I listed 18th century building of great elegance. There has been a place of Christian worship here since the 7th Century, when Modw
en, an Irish noblewomen on her way to Rome, stopped with her companions and established a house of prayer on an Island in the Trent. An Abbey was founded nearby in 1002 and the current church was built to replace the abbey in 1726 when the latter became unsafe. See https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/4196/

St Paul's, DE14 2ED, is a grade II* listed huge and beautiful Victorian Anglo-Catholic temple. The architect of St Paul’s was J M Teale of Doncaster, with contributions from Lord Grimthorpe (also known as Sir Edmund Beckett – the Big Ben clockmaker) and beautified by G F Bodley. This, 'the cathedral of the brewing industry', was funded by the Bass family. See https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/4195/
St Aidan's, DE14 2BB, is more like a small village chapel, which once it was. It serves the ribbon development along Shobnall Road up to Henhurst Ridge and the road between Anslow and Tatenhill. See https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/4193/

We are associated with two schools. Holy Trinity on Wetmore Road is a Church school linked with St Modwen's. Shobnall school is not church school, but is pleased to be linked with St Aidan's. There are a number of residential homes in the parish of St Aidan and St Paul,
