We can’t wait to be at Carver Road next week for our first ‘Youth Club In The Park’ of the year.

We’re looking forward to joining with Burton Albion Community Trust and Riverside Church to deliver this.

It’s great to give all young people opportunities to engage in youth work 🙂

Thought for the week

 

Summer is a time of even more comings and goings than usual so, with this in mind, I thought I'd pray a blessing (from Numbers 6:24-26) over us all - for those who are travelling and those who aren't:

The Lord bless you 
    and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
   and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face towards you
   and give you peace.

Over the next six weeks or so, please take the time to meditate on what God might be saying to you.

Burton College

Riverside Church and Burton Youth for Christ have been working together to offer a weekly Chaplaincy service to the learners at Burton & South Derbyshire College (BSDC) for many years now.  Nathan and Becky have served faithfully and, following conversations between the three organisations involved, we are delighted to announce that in September, this service will expand to supporting learners and staff with the establishment of a Christian Union type of society.

How can you support this?

1) Please pray for Becky and Nathan as they prepare for this exciting new development.

2) Please tell any young people who will be at the college in September to look out for the Christian Union and say hello to Becky and Nathan at the special lunch time events on Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th September when lots of groups will try to engage with learners.

3) Please tell anyone you know who works at BSDC about all of the above and encourage them to join in with the activities where possible, as this will be for learners and staff alike.

Thought for the week

‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.'
(Acts 9:17)

The Lord uses people to touch and bring change to our lives. The Lord sent Ananias to Saul so that he could be healed from blindness. Sometimes, the people who cross our paths are there for a purpose. Our lives may intersect with others so that we can be used by God in their lives.   

 

Prayer

Lord, thank You that You are the God of divine appointments. You bring others into our lives, and they are there for Your purpose and plan. At the same time, you want to use our lives to touch the lives of others. May we never miss the opportunity. Amen.
