Do you attend church or use the community centre? If so these planned road closures on Match Days will most likely affect you!
Lancashire County Council is proposing new match day traffic restrictions on a number of roads surrounding Turf Moor.
The proposed Order would introduce a Prohibition of Driving on certain roads from 2 hours before kick-off until 1 hour after the final whistle (up to a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period), with roads affected including:
• Belvedere Road
• Brunshaw Road
• Harry Potts Way
• Higgin Street
• Todmorden Road
• Yorkshire Street
Some restrictions would apply at every home match, whilst others could be implemented when considered necessary for larger fixtures or special events.
There is a deadline of 3rd of July for individuals, organisations and businesses to give feedback and make objections to these proposals and it would be really helpful if everyone who uses the Church and our Community Centre or that lives locally could do so.

It is worth noting that these proposals will not only effect ourselves but also numerous local businesses, those living on Todmorden Road, Lyndhurst Road, Belvedere Road, and all the smaller side streets, and people living on the Turf Moor and Brunshaw estates. Elderly residents in Townfields, users of the Registry Office, St Mary's Church and even the Fire Station will all be adversely impacted.
These Road closures will also force more traffic onto smaller side streets, which already suffer with increased traffic and excessive parking on Match Days, rendering them unsafe for residents and drivers alike. Please therefore share this with any friends and neighbours living locally. Thanks!
