Buckfast Abbey Children's Book Festival

Buckfast Abbey Children's Book Festival Children's Book Festival Buckfast Abbey, Devon We are pleased to be able to announce the date of the Second Buckfast Abbey Storytelling Festival.
(2)

This will take place from Thursday 5th to Sunday 8th July 2018. It will be part of the year-long celebrations for the millennium of Buckfast Abbey. The Thursday and Friday will be aimed at schools and the Saturday and Sunday will be for families. We have dubbed our festival a Christian storytelling festival to make it stand out from other festivals. We mean by this that we ask that stories “maybe

broadly said to ally to Christian values”. This encompasses a wide spectrum from actual Bible stories, to looking after the environment, taking care of each other etc.. principally this means that in our stories there will nothing too scary or where the bad guys win! First and foremost all our performers will be celebrating the joy of storytelling. It is aimed at everyone not just those with a faith background. We are looking for expressions of interest from storytellers, puppeteers, writers, theatre and circus performers, dancers and others whose work would find a place in our Festival. We hope that we can stage performances and events for all ages - including adults. For more information please contact Alison Gagg, Buckfast Abbey Education Manager on [email protected]

All tickets are available from the Abbey Bookshop or by calling 01364 645506.
