Community Harvest Barn Dance! Hog roast, quiz and raffle followed by dancing into the evening with the wonderful Teasing the Cat. Tickets £15 from Bruton Club, Bruton Convenience Store, or by booking in advance by email from [email protected]. Tickets will also be available on the door but will not include food (tickets for food understandably must be bought in advance). Tickets will be available from the beginning of September.

Clare Sydenham and David Hindley have compiled another of their recitals of words and music, this time on the theme of Autumn. Any such anthology would of course be incomplete without Keats’ famous ode to the season, but once again the range will be wide: the Pickwick Club shooting pheasant; T.S. Eliot’s Prufrock wandering though foggy London streets; and, perhaps less familiarly, John Drinkwater’s Moonlit Apples or Dylan Thomas’s Poem in October. The music too will be eclectic, from Debussy to Billy Mayerl, Schubert to Ravel and Gershwin. The concert will, as usual, take place in St Mary’s Church.

Following the success of his Winter Yards Band tour, Steve Knightley is delighted to announce 'Sanctuary – Songs from Sacred Spaces'.

Known for his songs of history and location, Steve will create an evening of material beautifully matched to these resonant church, chapel and ancient building venues, chosen for their atmosphere and acoustic warmth.

The concerts will also feature Dan Salvatore, whose haunting hand pan soundscapes add a meditative, ambient dimension to the evening. Expect stripped-back arrangements, strong storytelling, and a focus on the relationship between song, space, and listener.

We are very excited to be welcoming back the amazing Aurin Girls’ Choir for a concert on Monday 29 June, 7.30pm at St Mary’s Church, Bruton. From the Kodály Music School in Kecskemét, Hungary these girls and the younger Miraculum Children’s Choir have visited Bruton many times and delighted us with their excellent performances. The choir has an outstanding international reputation and have won many 1st prizes including at the World Choir Games (China) and at the Llangollen Eisteddfod.

Children from Bruton Primary School and St Mary’s Children’s choir will also be joining with the Hungarian girls in the concert.
