How is it that we can be totally relaxed and confident when enthusing about our favourite book, film or restaurant, but get tongue-tied when we try to talk about Jesus?

If you missed the first session of our Summer Discussion Group “How to share your faith” then don't worry - you're not too late! Join us for session two as we think about how to be prepared so that that golden opportunity doesn't take us by surprise. Plus there will be more real-life stories and interviews to help us learn from the successes and failures of others.

Meeting in church every Tuesday until 30th June, 8 to 9.30pm, with refreshments served from 7.45pm. Suitable for all from novice to expert. Contact us office to register or for further details.

🍩🎉 DOUGHNUTS WITH DAD IS BACK! 🎉🍩

Forget scrambling for a last-minute Father’s Day gift. We’ve got you covered!

Join us on Saturday 20th June, 10.30am–12pm for a morning packed with doughnuts, games, laughs, a little friendly competition and the return of the legendary Photo Booth 📸😄

There’ll also be a special space where children can make and wrap a keepsake gift ready for Father’s Day — because nothing beats a present made with love (and possibly a bit too much glue!).

And before anyone asks… this isn’t just for dads. Grandads, uncles, stepdads, mums, children, friends, neighbours and anyone who enjoys a good doughnut and a good time are very welcome too. 💛

Best of all? It’s completely FREE.

The only thing we ask is that you book a place so we know how many doughnuts to acquire. A doughnut shortage is not the sort of headline we want associated with St John’s. 🍩😱

Come for the fun. Stay for the memories.

And the doughnuts.

Mostly the doughnuts. 😄🍩

Starting on Tuesday 2nd June our Summer Discussion Group “How to share your faith” might be just what you need if you want to share your faith with friends and family, neighbours and colleagues, but don’t know how best to start.

Using a combination of Bible study, discussion and real-life testimonies plus a light-hearted look at some fantastic faith-sharing failures, we will try to learn some lessons which will help us in our daily lives.

Meeting every Tuesday from 2nd to 30th June, 8 to 9.30pm in church, with refreshments served from 7.45pm. Suitable for all from novice to expert. Contact us office to register or for further details.

🌞🦆 BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY = NATURE WALK & PICNIC TIME! 🦆🌞

Last year we spent the whole morning side-eyeing dramatic black clouds and wondering if our picnic blankets were about to become flotation devices. This year? The forecast is giving Mediterranean getaway and we are absolutely here for it 😄☀️

Join us at Keston Ponds for a gloriously wholesome morning of fresh air, nature spotting, picnics and the chance to release the children into the wild in a socially acceptable manner. 🌿😄

🌼 Nature tick-off sheets
🌼 Nature bracelets
🥪 Picnic & blanket essential
🧴 Sun cream and hats VERY essential
🌳 Plus plenty of lovely shady spots amongst the trees for strategic cooling down and snack consumption

📍 Meet at 11am at the main car park on Westerham Road

It’s buggy-friendly, open to absolutely everyone, and honestly shaping up to be a bit of a gorgeous Bank Holiday trip out.

Looking forward to see you there! 💛

🎉🌞 WHAT. A. DAY. 🌞🎉

An early start, a late finish, approximately 47 trips carrying tables, and quite possibly the largest concentration of cake ever witnessed in one location… but our Open Day was an absolute joy 💛🍰😄

It was so lovely to see a brilliant mix of familiar faces and brand new ones too — all helped along nicely by a bouncy castle, an ice cream van, weather that actually cooperated, plus enough colouring, crafts and happy chaos to keep small humans thoroughly entertained. 🎈🍦🎨

And WOW… the standard of the Great Junior Bake Off was incredible. 🎂🏆
Across every age category, the cakes were genuinely impressive — creative, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The judges tasted EVERY single entry (a true sacrifice in the name of community service 😄) and had some incredibly difficult decisions to make. Huge congratulations to all our brilliant bakers and winners!

Massive thanks to everyone who helped make the day happen — setting up, serving, baking, chatting, welcoming, tidying, carrying things, moving things, finding missing things… community events really do run on kindness, teamwork and caffeine ☕🙌

We’re caked out, happily tired, and already wondering how on earth we can possibly uplevel this again next year! 😄💛

🎂🚨 FINAL REMINDER FOR THE GREAT JUNIOR BAKE OFF! 🚨🎂

Aprons on. Ovens preheated. Kitchen chaos expected. 😄

This Saturday, as part of our Open Day, the children are officially taking over the baking world — and honestly, we are READY. 🍰✨

Will we see elegant cupcakes?
A gravity-defying sponge creation?
Something held together entirely by icing and hope? 👀

At this point we’re expecting entries ranging from “adorably rustic” to “should probably be displayed in the Tate Modern.”

🏆 Voucher prizes for each age category
👶 5 & under | 🧒 6–10 | 🧑‍🍳 11–17

⏰ Bring bakes to church for 10am THIS SATURDAY ready for judging (judging approx 10.30am)
⚠️ Homemade bakes only — and don’t forget your ingredients/allergen list!

Then once judging is complete, the bakes will become part of the café refreshments… admired briefly before being enthusiastically eaten. 🍰☕😄

Alongside all this delicious chaos there’ll also be a bouncy castle, sparkle station, hot dogs, bacon rolls, café, plants, preserves and handmade crafts. 🎉

ON YOUR MARKS… GET SET… BAKE!
