At 11am the tenor bell (deepest and heaviest) was tolled ‘half muffled’ (where one side of the bell is a muffled creating a softer sound) to remember the fallen who fought for our country during WW1 & WW2.

• 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 •

‘Ring for the King’ is an nationwide event taking place on the 6th May 2023 which is the day of King Charles the III coronation.
The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers (CCCBR) is looking to recruit 8,000 ringers around the country to take part in this event, and to keep the bells going throughout the reign.

Here at St Peter in Thanet we are looking for some new recruits currently ahead of this event (obviously not 8,000!) To train in time for ‘Ring for the King’.

A fun and cheap hobby which is great for the mind and a great whole body exercise and of course a great social activity!
