The Good Shepherds Way - Pilgrimage Walk, linking the churches in the Brixham Mission Community, took place last weekend & was a great success!

The pilgrimage set off from the Barn with a Celtic Pilgrimage blessing from Rev Philippa on the first day. The whole weekend was full of beautiful scenery, fabulous friendships and wonderful welcomes from all the churches along the way.

A huge thank you to the organisers, providers of refreshments and everyone that joined the walks across both days 🥾👏☀️

We are having our fourth annual community festival on the 8th of august at our base at The Edge Bolton street. As normal we have live music, stalls, and food and drink!, we also have some new events this time including a tango workshop, slacklining and a lightsaber display! We hope to see you there on the 8th of August 11am-10pm!!

Come and participate in a round robin pilgrimage walk linking the churches of the Brixham Mission Community. Starting points, days and times below if you’d like to walk with the group (no need to book just come along) or feel free to download and follow the map yourself for a self-guided tour. Total distance: 16miles/26km.

Saturday 15 August - a morning walk suitable for families and pushchairs. 10am start at the Barn Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Galmpton, ends with having our own picnics together at St Mary’s Brixham finishing around 2pm. Calling at St Mary’s Churston and at All Saints Brixham Churches along the way for rest and reflection, drinks and toilets.

Sunday 16 August - is a challenging all day walk. 8.30am start at St Mary’s Brixham, and following SW Coast Path to Kingswear Church for our own picnic lunches then on via Dart riverside path and Long Wood back to the Barn Chapel for a final tea to celebrate completion.

Wonderful start to our Sunday … bacon sandwiches and a cuppa in aid of the Christian Aid charity plus an outdoor service under the trees - what could be better! Thank you to everyone who came we raised a fabulous £94 ❤️
