We ❤️ Sundays at Life Church Bristol.

A wonderful morning together as we worshipped, shared communion, and continued our *Expect the Unexpected* series 🙌

Phil Malcom brought an encouraging message on prophecy and how we can grow in hearing from God and stepping out in faith to use the gifts He has given us. ✨

So grateful for God’s presence among us and for all He’s doing in our church family ❤️

This Pentecost Sunday we launched our new series, Expect the Unexpected 🔥🙌

Pastor Gareth spoke from Acts 12:1–17, reminding us that prayer is powerful and that when God’s people pray, incredible things can happen.

Through the story of Peter’s miraculous release from prison, we were encouraged that:
• Prayer is the best option when we don’t know what to do
• Prayer involves us in the unexpected things God can do
• Prayer shows us God’s power, not ours

James 5 reminds us that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. As a church, we want to be people who dream big, pray often, trust God and take every opportunity He places before us ✨
What might happen if we truly began to expect the unexpected from God? 👀

This Sunday Jye continued our Work as Worship series with a message on producing fruit and stewarding what God has given us 🍇✨

Looking at the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25, we were reminded that everything we have ultimately belongs to God, and He calls us to faithfully use what He’s entrusted to us — our time, gifts, opportunities and resources — for His glory.

Jye encouraged us not to waste time comparing ourselves to others, but instead to recognise what God has already placed in our hands. Whether it seems big or small, God can use it when we are willing and obedient.

We were also challenged with the urgency of living fruitful lives. We are saved by grace through faith, not by works — but genuine faith produces fruit. God desires faithfulness, stewardship and obedience from His people.

What has God given you that could be used to glorify Him? 🙌

This Sunday Andy Cains continued our Work as Worship series with a message on Sabbath and why rest matters to God 🙌

We were reminded that Sabbath is intentionally stopping to remember that God provides, God is in control, and we are not slaves to productivity.

From the very beginning, God modelled rhythms of rest for us (Genesis 2:2–3). Andy encouraged us that we were designed to live *from* rest, not constantly striving *for* rest.

Sabbath restores the whole person — heart, soul, mind and strength — and teaches us to trust God rather than carry everything in our own strength. It’s not about rigid rules, but about creating intentional rhythms of rest, delight, worship and restoration ✨

If you’re feeling weary or burnt out, Jesus’ invitation still stands:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 ❤️

We ♥️ Sundays at Life Church Bristol

We gathered to worship, pray and continue our Work as Worship series with a powerful message from Andy Cains on Sabbath and rest. 🙌

We were reminded that Sabbath is more than just taking a break — it’s intentionally stopping to remember that God provides, God is in control, and we are not slaves to productivity.

Andy encouraged us that we were designed to live *from* rest, not just *for* rest. In a world that constantly tells us to do more and achieve more, Jesus invites us into rhythms of restoration, delight, trust and worship ✨

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

So grateful to grow in faith together each week 🤍

This week our LCB Kids have been learning Romans 15:13 💛✨

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him…”

The children got creative making their own door hangers of hope - a simple reminder they can see every day to put their hope in God 🙌🎨

We love seeing faith come to life in such fun and meaningful ways!
