Bristol & West Progressive Jewish Congregation BWPJC is a warm, inclusive community that celebrates diversity of attitudes, opinions, and practices. We need names of visitors for security purposes.

The Bristol and West Progressive Jewish Congregation recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. We are a lively congregation of approximately 140 households including family, single, student and associate members as well as friends. We are located in Bristol, and our members come from a wide area of the South West of England and South Wales and we are affiliated with the national Liberal Judaism mo

vement. Our Friday night services are on Zoom only and our Saturday morning services are mixed. If you would like to come to a service, please email us with your contact details to [email protected] and someone will get back to you.

Shabbat Shalom! שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

This week we read Parashat Beha'alotcha - "When You Raise" - in which Aaron is commanded to raise the lights of the menorah. As we welcome Shabbat, may we each find our own light to raise and share with those around us.

Wishing everyone in our community a peaceful and restful Shabbat.

Today, some of our community visited the Nova Exhibition in London - a powerful and heartbreaking testament to the lives lost on 7th October 2023.

We stood witness to stories of joy and love through to terror, actions of heroism and lives cut short.

We feel gratitude that all the hostages are now back home, though heartbroken that not all returned alive.

We will not forget those we lost. עם ישראל חי
