How do you know if someone really loves you?

God loves us so much that He did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all. Our sins have been washed away by the blood of Jesus. He's done it ✔️

So be a Christian even if it involves suffering! As the Apostle Paul said:

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39

That's a wrap (for now) in our Romans series. Coming up next: the Book of Isaiah! Don't miss it – join us at 4pm on Sunday at the Elmgrove Centre.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. - Romans 8:18

The higher the confidence of the future age, the higher the risk-taking for the kingdom in this present age. Are you a Christian risk-taker? Are you willing to stand with the Son of God and suffer as you proclaim and sacrifice for the gospel?

We wrap up our series in Romans this coming Sunday as we look at the end of Chapter 8. Join us at 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre!

Are you sure you are a Christian?

This past Sunday, our senior pastor Carl spoke to us about Romans 8:1–17. We saw how this passage is all about the Holy Spirit, and that His presence in the Christian gives them assurance that they belong to Christ and are children of God.

A Christian is someone who has the Spirit dwelling in them, thereby battling their sin and putting to death the deeds of the body.

Next week we will be looking at Romans 8:18–30. Join us at 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre. We hope to see you there!

Fight the good fight 🥊

Carl expounded Romans 7:13-25 for us this past Sunday. We saw that the renewed Christian mind loves God's Law, but the old self remains, so our twin selves battle within us.

We should therefore embrace the battle, not be discouraged, and yearn for the resurrection body.

In a few weeks we will be wrapping up our Romans series. But not just yet! This coming Sunday, we will start looking at Romans 8. Do join us at 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre!

We had a great time in Romans 7:1-12 this past Sunday. Carl helped us see that grace releases us from the judgement and weakness of the Law. God's Law is good, but sin weaponises the Law to kill us. The solution? Jesus' death on the cross. We can now obey the Law because we want to, and bear fruit for God.

Where does the sin in me go, then? Does it disappear? Are we to be sinlessly perfect in this life? Join us on Sunday at 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre, as we look at the second half of Romans 7!

Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!

Tom took us through Romans 6:15-23 this past Sunday. We saw that Christians now have a new master (Jesus), a new obligation (obedience) and a new incentive (eternal life).

We now serve a new master – a far better one. When we are tempted to sin, let us remember that that's not who we are anymore. We now belong to Master Jesus.

Join us again on Sunday at 4pm (2:30pm if you'd like to attend Christianity Explored!) at the Elmgrove Centre as we go onto Romans 7.

Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means!

This past Sunday we were in Romans 6:1-14. Our brother Ben took us through the passage and helped us see that Christians have been united to Christ both in death to sin, and in resurrection to new life.

Let us therefore live as people who have died to sin and risen to new life.

Join us again this coming Sunday as we go through the second half of Romans 6, at 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre.

Who is Jesus? What did He do? What relevance does He have for my life?

Over the next seven Sundays we’re running Christianity Explored, a course that looks at these questions through the Gospel of Mark.

There’ll be food to eat, a video to watch, and plenty of opportunity to ask questions. All for free.

Do get in touch for more details, or to let us know you plan on coming!

Last Sunday we resumed our sermon series in Paul's letter to the Romans. Carl preached on Romans 5:1-11 again, this time focussing on assurance.

Because God loved us even while we were His enemies, and because He's already given us the Holy Spirit, and because of our present sufferings, He will certainly secure the better future.

God will not reject us now that we have peace with Him through our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's not be put off by sufferings, but instead rejoice in them.

Join us on Sunday 25th January as we look at Romans 5:12-21, 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre!

Over the past two Sundays, Tom took us through a biblical theology of God's dwelling place. We saw how the Bible tells us that God dwelt in Eden, then in the tabernacle/temple, then in the Man Jesus Christ, then in the Church, and finally He will dwell with us in the New Creation.

As Christians in whom God's Spirit dwells, let's worship God with our whole lives and proclaim His excellencies to all who will hear!

We resume our sermon series in Romans this coming Sunday 18th January, 4pm at the Elmgrove Centre. Hope to see you there!

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! — Revelation 22:20

We had a range of New Testament readings this past Sunday, from the first coming of Jesus: His birth, life, death and resurrection for our sins, to His second coming, when He will come to judge and reign.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be meeting on Sunday 28th December 2025. Our next Sunday meeting will be at 4pm on Sunday 4th January 2026, at the Elmgrove Centre.

Merry Christmas!
