Thank you Mr. Miliband  hitting charities like ours which helped the community with the groups that we are running, including youth groups, co***ne anonymous etc. Money is already tight and it’s just about to get a lot tighter with another two stealth taxes to go with the other four already on the bill .

A letter from our energy supplier 

We’re getting in touch to let you know about two new non-energy costs (a new levy and a significant increase in network costs), on your bill.

This may be unexpected, especially as you're on a Fixed Price Plan, so we want to explain clearly what's changing, why they're being added to your bill, and what it means for you.

What’s changing?

From 3 August 2026, a levy and an additional network cost will be added to your bill.

They are a result of government policy. We were notified by Ofgem (the energy regulator) and the government in July 2025, and from:

April 2026, the cost of using the electricity network increased significantly to support further investment in the electricity network.

December 2025, a new levy was introduced to help fund future low-carbon electricity generation.

Why are they being added to my bill?

The government and Ofgem, have introduced these additional charges to support the energy transition. They've been approved through the energy industry framework, and all suppliers are tasked with recovering the costs from customers to pass onto the network operators, the government and Ofgem.

We do not set these costs ourselves.

Your contracted electricity unit rates already include non-energy costs. These two additional costs were unforeseen when your contract was agreed, which is why they are being added now.

What this means for you

For many small business customers, this usually totals less than £1 a day*, per meter. The exact amount depends on your meter, consumption and how long is left on your contract.


Later in this email, we’ve listed the additional costs and which electricity supplies and contracts they apply to. If your contract starts after 3 August 2026, these charges will apply from the start of your contract.


To help you understand how much this will cost your business, we’ve included an estimated monthly cost**. We’ve calculated this based on a forecast of your annual electricity use – if you use more or less electricity then the amount will change.

David Lenthall (Lenny) RBL Bishopsworth is walking 23 miles today in commemoration of 110th anniversary of the battle of the Somme and to raise money for the Royal British. The route from Royal British Legion Bishopsworth up to Cox’s Garage onto the Link Road at the Lime kiln onto the A38 heading towards Bristol down to Parson Street Station along Hartcliffe Way through the Malago Woods back to the Legion he’ll be walking this five times. The 23 miles represents the amount miles of trenches at the battle of the Somme. Please show him your support.
