"Dear Prime Minister,
Freedom of speech is enshrined in international law and has long been a cornerstone of British democracy. Yet cases like that of Dia Moodley raise serious concerns about how the law is being applied across the United Kingdom.
Peaceful Christian preaching should never be treated as a criminal matter. When citizens are investigated or threatened with arrest for expressing their beliefs in public, the rule of law and confidence in equal and impartial policing are undermined.
Although Britain abolished blasphemy laws, provisions in the Public Order Act 1986, the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, and other legislation are increasingly used to restrict lawful religious expression.
Pastor Dia’s case highlights the urgent need for clarity in the law to ensure that peaceful speech — including religious expression in public spaces — is properly protected.
When citizens are policed for “causing offence”, freedom of speech is no longer secure. Pastor Dia’s case highlights a growing problem: authorities are prioritising the risk of offence over the right to speak.
Britain must reaffirm its commitment to free speech and equal application of the law.
We Call on the Government to:
Clarify and strengthen legal protections for peaceful Christian preaching and religious speech in public spaces, including granting freedom of expression a special legal status with presumption in its favour over other qualified rights and strict scrutiny for any restrictions.
Repeal or amend key provisions in the Public Order Act 1986 (Sections 4A, 5, and stirring up hatred clauses) and the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 (Sections 43 and 59) to prevent their misuse against lawful expression.
Improve police training with consistent, high-quality faith literacy and free speech training (including traditional Christian beliefs on moral issues) so that theological disagreement is never treated as “hate speech,” as recommended in the 2023 independent review conducted by the Government’s Independent Faith Engagement Adviser.
The law must protect speech.
Britain must remain a country where citizens are free to peacefully express their beliefs without fear of police intervention.
Prime Minister, we urge you to take action to protect free speech and ensure the law safeguards this fundamental freedom for everyone.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]"

Would you speak of Allah, Muhammed or Krishna that way?

Saturday during public preaching, a young woman openly spoke blasphemy against our Lord Jesus Christ. As believers, we were deeply grieved to hear His name treated with such disrespect in public.

She is the one in the picture with her arms spread out, trying to draw the attention of the crowd away from the preaching and good conversations. We have blocked out her identity.

I gently asked her whether she would be willing to speak in the same way about Allah or Krishna, but she chose not to respond.
Dear friends, I ask that you join us in prayer for this young woman. Pray that the truth of the gospel, which was clearly shared with her and many other young people present, would take root in her heart. May the Lord soften hearts, open eyes, and draw many to repentance and faith in Christ.
