Here's a question to get you thinking:

Do you actually know what makes *you* happy?

Not what you think *should* make you happy, but what the research says genuinely works?

That's exactly what we'll be exploring over four Saturday mornings, over breakfast, with no pressure and no agenda.

When Mark first walked through the doors, he felt like an outsider. Everyone else seemed to know what was going on. He believed something, but couldn't quite put it into words.

Then someone invited him to Alpha. No pressure. Free food. Ask whatever you want.

"Lots of different people go," Mark says. "Some come along for a bit of a chat. Some have been Christians for years but haven't engaged for a long time. Some have just moved to Bristol and want to meet people. And some, like me, are just figuring out what they believe."

He finished the course with a bit of foundational knowledge — and, more importantly, with real friends and a real sense of belonging.

That's what Alpha is. It starts this Wednesday 15 April in Downend.

Ever wondered what actually makes people happy? Not just the obvious stuff — but what the research really says?

Over four Saturday mornings in Kingswood, we're watching real people put the science of happiness to the test — and talking about what it means for our own lives. Casual, open, no agenda.

💬 "When I first came to Alpha, I was completely unchurched ... and I had questions."

Ben came in as a self-described science nerd, wanting real evidence. Did the resurrection actually happen? What proof is there for any of this? Alpha gave him the space to ask, without anyone making him feel judged or silly.

"You end up leaving with more questions than you started with," he says. "But they're completely different questions."

That was a few years ago. Today, Ben is part of our church family ... on the sound team, the worship team, and serving as assistant treasurer. His parents, who have no church background themselves, say it's the best thing that's ever happened to him.

We're running Alpha again, starting Wednesday 15 April in a Downend venue. Whether you're on the outside looking in, going through a tough time, or just curious ... it's for you.
