This Sunday we celebrate Trinity Sunday, our Feast of Title. Bristol Cathedral is formally known as The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity, and this feast sits at the heart of our identity and worship.

Big news! In the next leg of their tour, The Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal’s five-metre pair of inflatable wrong trousers have come to Bristol Cathedral! You can come and see them until Wednesday 3 June!
This trouser tour is drumming up excitement for Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day. Join The Grand Appeal on Friday 19 June and donate what you can for the right to wear your worst trousers.
As the dedicated charity for Bristol Children's Hospital, The Grand Appeal helps over 150,000 sick children each year. The charity funds cutting-edge medical equipment and research; vital distractions like music, art and play; and home-from-home accommodation for parents from across the South West.
This year’s Wrong Trousers Day celebration marks 25 years since the opening of Bristol Children’s Hospital; the cause behind the unfashionable legwear, as well as Aardman’s 50th anniversary.
It’s thanks to the fundraising efforts behind Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day and Aardman’s generosity in allowing their characters, Wallace & Gromit, to spearhead the campaign, that the hospital was made possible.
The money you donate will continue to support sick children and babies treated in Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

🔥 The Man Who Saved Bristol Cathedral

In October 1831, Bristol was engulfed in three days of riots following the rejection of the Reform Bill. In the chaos, the Bishop’s Palace was set on fire, and the flames spread into the Cloisters, destroying the Cathedral’s library in the Chapter House and centuries of books and records.
The crowd then moved towards the Nave. At that moment, William Phillips, a churchwarden, stood firm and barred the door, preventing the Cathedral itself from being set alight. His actions are remembered today with a plaque inside the building.
