We have been deeply saddened by the news of the racist attack that took place in our community on Friday night - this is not representative of the loving people of Avonmouth that we know.

We are planning a prayer vigil in St Andrew’s Church this Wednesday 5.30-6.30pm to show support for those affected by the attack, to pray and/or light a candle and pray for our community.

Come for all or some of the time. All are welcome, of all faiths or none 🙏

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the fire at the SUEZ Recycling facility in Avonmouth.

We have been praying for everyone involved, for the emergency services who have worked tirelessly throughout the incident, for those working at the site, and for all who have been impacted in our local community. We are grateful that, according to the latest reports, everyone on site was safely evacuated and there have been no reported injuries.

If you have been affected by this incident, or if you would simply value someone to talk to or pray with, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We would be glad to support you however we can.

♿ A small lift. A big step forward.

As part of the transformation of St Andrew's Church, we're delighted to share that our new platform lift is now installed and ready to serve the new mezzanine space.

This is much more than a construction milestone.

The lift means that the new mezzanine will be fully accessible, ensuring that everyone can take part in what happens there, regardless of mobility needs.

The space will soon become home to the **Spear Centre** – a programme supporting 16–24-year-olds who are not currently in education, employment or training, helping them build confidence, develop workplace skills and move towards sustainable employment.

We're excited to see this area come to life as a place where young people can discover new opportunities, receive encouragement and take positive steps towards their future.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this project through prayer, generosity and practical help. Every stage brings us one step closer to opening this fantastic new community space.

A massive welcome to our Spear Manager Matt and Spear coach Keilah who joined our team today.

SPEAR Bristol NW is opening in the autumn here at St. Andrew’s Church Avonmouth in partnership with Spear Bristol and Bristol North West Foodbank.

SPEAR mentors young people aged 16-24 ‘Not in Education, Employment or Training’ who are facing barriers to getting ahead in these areas. It has a huge success rate with 75% of participants transitioning into education or employment and remaining there a year later.

Dear friends,

Unfortunately, due to ongoing building works at St Andrew's Church, both The Well Listening Café and Thirst Bible Study will be cancelled on Tuesday, 23rd June.

We know many of you look forward to coming along each week for friendship, conversation and time together. We're sorry for the inconvenience but the building works are particularly noisy at the moment, making it difficult for us to offer the welcoming and peaceful environment we would like.

The good news is that this is only a temporary interruption, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 30th June.
