🇺🇦 Ukrainian Refugee Appeal UPDATE 🇺🇦

Thank you to everyone who donated, helped sort through the vast amount of donations and those who transported all the kit and supplies. We were overwhelmed from the support in and around the the Parish. The donations are now heading across the continent to those who are so very desperately in need of help and support.

Many thanks to Yeo Valley who took our contribution and are continuing to take donations, with lorries heading over weekly. If you still have items please feel free to take them to their HQ at Blagdon.

Again thank you so much to everyone for your help.

Best,
Caroline and Graham

💙💛DONATIONS NOW CLOSED 💙💛

United Parish Ukraine Appeal UPDATE!

We have received an overwhelming amount of donations. We are now looking for more volunteers to help sort the donations.

The church which we were passing items on to in Bridgwater has had to reduce the amount of donations they are taken so we are going to divide the donations to other groups sending to Ukraine.

Many groups are no longer taking clothes or blankets as they have been overwhelmed. We will continue to look at options for these donations. Whether we wait to see in a few weeks if they re open clothes and blanket donations or have to pass them on to another charity such as a homeless shelter.

If you can help sort donations please let us know.

Thank you for your support.

A Service of Prayer after the death of The Duke of Edinburgh

We remember before God, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh

We give thanks for his life

and we comfort one another in our grief.

Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd; therefore can I lack nothing.

He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters.

He shall refresh my soul

and guide me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil; for you are with me;

your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You spread a table before me

in the presence of those who trouble me; you have anointed my head with oil

and my cup shall be full.

Surely goodness and loving mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

O God, our sovereign and shepherd,

who brought again your Son Jesus Christ

from the valley of death,

comfort us with your protecting presence and your angels of goodness and love, that we also may come home

and dwell with him in your house for ever. Amen.

Jesus said, ‘Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling-places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way to the place where I am going.’

Thomas said to him,‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’

Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’

You might wish to reflect on the life, dedication and service of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come;

thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation;

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

the power and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen.

God of our lives,

we give thanks for the life of Prince Philip, for the love he shared among us,

and for his devotion to duty.

We entrust him now to your love and mercy, through our Redeemer Jesus Christ. Amen.

Merciful God, be close to all who mourn,

especially The Queen and all members of the Royal Family. May they know the hope of your promises

and the comfort of your love,

through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May Christ our Lord give us peace. Amen.
