⭐The Role of Prophets

Why and how does God call prophets?

Throughout history, God has called prophets to teach, guide, warn, and testify of Jesus Christ. Prophets receive revelation from God, share His guidance for our day, and help His children draw closer to the Savior.

We believe this same pattern continues today. Through living prophets, God continues to reveal His will and provide guidance to help us strengthen our faith and navigate the challenges of our day.

Swipe through to learn more about why God calls prophets, what they do, what they reveal, and how their guidance can help us today♥♥

The world can offer moments of happiness, but Jesus Christ offers something deeper- a peace that isn’t dependent on our circumstances.

When life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or afraid, we can turn to Him and find comfort in His promise:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

His peace is still available to us today. 🤍

No matter how far you feel you’ve wandered, you are never beyond the reach of Jesus Christ. ❤️

His Atonement reaches into our darkest moments, our deepest struggles, and the places where we may feel most unworthy. He descended below all things so that He could lift each of us into His marvellous light.

You are not an exception to God’s love! You are not beyond redemption. Through Jesus Christ, there is always a way forward, a way to heal, and a way to begin again.

How has Jesus Christ helped you find hope when you needed it most?

Who are the missionaries?

Missionaries are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who leave their homes for 18 months to 2 years to serve others and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

They come from different places, backgrounds, and experiences, but they all share the same purpose: to invite others to come unto Jesus Christ and help them receive the restored gospel.

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
-Mark 16:15

WHY DO WE HAVE LIVING PROPHETS?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by living prophets- inspired men called to speak for the Lord, as did Moses, Isaiah, Peter, Paul, Nephi, Mormon, and other prophets of the scriptures.

Like the prophets of old, prophets today testify of Jesus Christ and teach His gospel. They make known God’s will and true character. They speak boldly and clearly, denouncing sin and warning of its consequences. At times, they may be inspired to prophesy of future events for our benefit.

Today, Dallin H. Oaks serves as the President and Prophet, Seer, and Revelator of the Church. He is the only person on earth authorized to receive revelation for the entire Church.

We can always trust the living prophets. Their teachings reflect the will of the Lord, who declared: “What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.” (Doctrine and Covenants 1:38)

This month, we’re exploring modern-day prophets- who they are, why their authority matters, and how their teachings can help us come closer to Jesus Christ!!

God’s love for each of us is at the heart of the gospel. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, so that through Him we might have hope, forgiveness, and everlasting life.

Christ did not come into the world to condemn us, but to save us. What a beautiful and comforting truth! No matter who we are or what we have done, His invitation is open to each of us.

What does God’s love mean to you?
