Brighton Werewolf Want to play Werewolf? Our friendly group loves this lively, social deduction game - similar to Mafia. New players always welcome! All very diplomatic.

Most of us are based in Brighton UK and our regular Monday night home is the Caxton Arms. Check out our Meetup link for more Werewolf is a social deduction game similar to Mafia. Maybe you've tried One Night Werewolf or an online game called Town of Salem? Our version is based on 'Wherewolf' created by Christian Zoli and it's amazing - pretty easy to learn and difficult to master. A game typically

involves 12 - 20 players - we're usually based at the Caxton Arms in Brighton - but at times due to COVID we may be online using Zoom! There’s no board and no, we don't wear costumes. There are a few rules, lots of logic, hunches, bluffing and the buckets of shade! The game is set-up and organised by a Moderator (Mod is God... so we do what they say). The Moderator gives us each a secret role (villager or werewolf faction) and then over a couple of hours we play night and day phases trying to figure out who is who. The villagers want to burn all the werewolves at the stake and vote every day to decide who burns. Some characters have mystic powers and gain information as the game progresses - and this can help if they dare to share. Werewolves want to kill all the villagers - they know who the other wolves are and can bite each night. There may be a Jester or a Madman too for extra chaos but no-one knows for sure... and if we want to make things more complicated we can add other factions too - vampires, criminals or - we don't like to discriminate. Werewolf is a great way to meet people and we are a super friendly bunch... unless you're a wolf. As well as our weekly Monday night meets at the Caxton Arms, there'll be a monthly offering of Werewolf at 1UP Cafe starting in May. More details coming soon.

Meanwhile, tickets available for Brighton Mafia Club on 12 April and Blood on the Clocktower returns twice a month when 1UP Cafe reopens in April.

Check out this event by Brighton Mafia Club! On Thursday the 29th of February from 6pm they are playing a social deduction & secret identity game called Mafia in Brighton!

The event is at the Duke of Wellington, a pub near Brighton railway station. The game has some similarities with Avalon, Werewolf, Resistance, Blood on the Clocktower, and more. It's completely free and all are invited to give it a go!

Just got home... the worst day of the year. Strange Games just finished and so it's now 360 sleeps till we do it all again.

This one was the best yet! A brilliant weekend with social deduction fans enjoying Blood on the Clocktower, Werewolf* and Mafia all night long! There were boardgames, a rain storm or four and tequila shots.

A Strange Games virgin just texted me:

"I absolutely loved it and am already looking forward to next year. It was like Board Games Christmas but with drunk camping in the summer!"

It's nap time. Will all the mods now go to sleep.
