St John the Evangelist, Preston, Brighton

St John the Evangelist, Preston, Brighton Welcome to St John's, Preston, Brighton! Sunday communion service at 10:00 a.m. Other activities as advertised here. What does that mean in plain English?

There is a Parish Eucharist on Sundays at 10:00, as well as a mid-week Eucharist on Wednesdays at 10:00. St John's is an Anglican (Church of England) Church, in the central to liberal Catholic tradition. It means that there are traditional services and prayers in modern English (all in an easy-to-follow booklet), and St John’s is part of the traditions of Anglicanism: forward-looking, people-focus

ed, serving the community. St John’s has a friendly congregation, drawn largely from the local community. Some of those in the congregation may have been Christians all their lives, whilst others might prefer to call themselves honest doubters and people with questions. St John’s aims to be an inclusive church welcoming everyone, whatever their age, background, ethnicity, sexuality or relationship status. St John’s endeavours to provide thoughtful, accessible, high-quality public worship and scope to explore what a meaningful faith might look like today.

We were delighted to celebrate the baptism and confirmation of Richard Tingley at the Brighton Deanery confirmations held at St Andrew, Moulsecoomb.
It was a truly joyful occasion, with the church full and 28 candidates confirmed. Members of our congregation were pleased to be there in support of Richard on this important step in his faith journey.
Please join us in offering our prayers and congratulations to Richard.

It was a great day at our church open garden today, even with the weather taking a turn. We were delighted to welcome some new visitors alongside familiar faces and neighbours from our community.
Together we spent time gardening, sharing some lovely cake, and caring for God’s creation in our open community garden. This event is part of the month-long Brighton & Hove “Routes to Roots” open gardens programme, and it’s been wonderful to be part of it.
Everyone is very welcome to join us at our next session on 20th June, 10am–2pm. We’d love to see you there.
