St Martin's Parish Church Choir is a choir that has sung here in Brighouse for over 165 years, and still keep the tradition going. Having for many years more than 30 regular choristers, the choir are now going through a recruitment drive, to bring in more children and adults to join. Currently we have between 8 and 10 singers who can sing every week. Mainly, we are looking for sopranos and treble

singers, children from around the age of 8, where they can learn how to sing and read music correctly, and develop their team work skills to sing as part of a larger choir with 4 parts. Over the course of time, children would be able to cover the Voice For Life Scheme provided by the RSCM, the Royal School of Church Music, and will sing for badges and awards. The choir sing at Sunday morning services and Evensong on a Sunday evening once a month. Other services include Christmas Day, Midnight Mass, 9 Lessons and Carols, Maunday Thursday and Easter Sunday, Ascension Day and Remembrance Sunday, plus any other festival days as required. Weddings also, if required. Anybody wanting more information can message Andrew Bevan on Facebook, choir practice is on Thursday evenings and 7.15 til 8.30pm.
