We started a new cohort of people on the Victory Programme today ❤️ Ashley, Rod and Mark joined us today to start their 6 week journey with cooking .
We also started a new mentor off today , Anna has been through our course and now can help others who come to cook , joining Bex and Audrey on the team .
We made really simple Moroccan honey & lemon chicken ❤️

It was a great day today as two of our Victory Programme participants graduated!!
Kerry and Anna have worked really hard over the last couple of months and have learnt lots of new skills and recipes plus it has been a great confidence builder for both of them 😀
Kerry will now go on to our baking course when it starts up and Anna is ready to be a mentor to the next course alongside Audrey ( pictured) and Rebecca.
Congratulations to both of you , we are super proud of your achievements 👏 ❤️

Our second volunteer to feature is Jane Dickinson who is our super busy Community Care Ministries Secretary .
Jane is in charge of the Monday Drop Ins , Wednesday games Club , Forge training and overall responsibility for all of our volunteers. She co-ordinates things like our Christmas present distribution and family liason.
She has been involved in The Salvation Army all of her life , taking a break for her military career. Over the last 6 years Jane has been involved with the church at Bridlington and finds her faith the strongest when she is serving the community.

As we journey through the 50 days of Pentecost, we’re reminded that faith is not just spoken — it is lived.
Yesterday some of our current Victory Programme cooking course and volunteers cooked 50 meals for our food bank; simple acts of kindness, shared food, and caring for others.

‘They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.’ — Acts 2:46

Here's Anna making sweet & sour chicken on the Victory Program today 😋 we worked out that each double portion cost £2.70 to make and that it would be much better than ready meals that cost more for less !

In the Victory Programme today we made minced beef and dumplings 😀 all by hand and included some fresh herbs , rosemary, parsley & thyme .
It looked amazing and everyone did an amazing job 👏 they all took 4 big portions home with them today 💙

It was a super busy morning down at Bridlington Spa for the U3a community info event.
Gill, our Victory Programme co-ordinator spoke to about 60 people over 2 hours, telling them all about our games afternoon, charity shop, sunday services, drop in, volunteering and made some great contacts with other agencies.
It was great to see Cllr Angela Walker, the current Mayor for Bridlington Town Council too
