What does it mean to be alive in Christ?

This Sunday, as part of our Roman Summer series, we'll explore Romans 6:1–11 and Paul's remarkable claim that God's grace doesn't simply forgive us – it invites us into a whole new way of living.

Together we'll reflect on identity, belonging, hope, and what it means to see ourselves and others through the lens of God's love.

We'll also celebrate Communion, gathering around one table where there is room for every guest and where grace comes before achievement.

Many thanks for the anonymous donation that surprised us earlier this week with the delivery of these gorgeous chairs, to replace the old black ones in our Chalmers Suite foyer. They have received loads of compliments already and we are sure they will be admired, enjoyed and looked after by all.

Statement on demonstrations in Scotland following a knife attack in Belfast.

Rev Sarah Brown, convener of the Public Life and Social Justice programme group of the Church of Scotland, said: “Those who took to the streets yesterday created an atmosphere of intimidation.

“There is nothing to be gained from such actions.

“The knife attack in Belfast was clearly a terrible and frightening incident.

“The Church of Scotland stands in solidarity with the victim and our prayers are with them, their family and friends and the wider community.

“In the face of such violence our response should be a calm and resolute determination to see justice done, according to the law.

“Jesus called us to love our neighbour and to welcome the stranger.

“At a time of growing political extremism, it is even more important that the rights, freedoms and protections of people from religious and racial minority groups are respected.

“All our neighbours living in Scotland should be able to feel safe and welcome here and be able to call it home.”

Pretty Amazing Grace

This Sunday we're exploring Romans 5:1–8 and discovering why grace really is amazing.

Join us at 11am as our Roman Summer series continues.

A few months ago the vestry sprung a leak, a new and unplanned water feature appeared to have been installed. Following some fabulous work by Mike and Ron, and a very generous £5k grant from National Churches Trust towards the associated costs, we have been able to fix the problem.

Maintaining our buildings is an ongoing task, if you want to get invovled and help us keep our Sanctuary and hall spaces in good shape for all who use them, then please send us a message or get in touch with the church office.
