Brentwood Baptist Church

Brentwood Baptist Church We are an active, vibrant church in the heart of Brentwood, Essex. We aim to seek, serve and follow Christ in all we do and bless the community always.

We are an active evangelical church, with activities covering all ages throughout the week, situated in the middle of Brentwood in Essex, England. The church is positioned midway between Brentwood High Street and the town railway station, about 200 metres from both. The church is ideally situated on a main thoroughfare to engage with both pedestrians and motorists. We meet every Sunday at 10.30 am

and have alternative forms of worship either in the afternoon or evening at various times. This combines contemporary worship with relevant Bible teaching. Groups for all ages 0 -14 are catered for during the morning service. Our evening services have a variety of formats including occasional Praise Celebrations. Our members come from all over the Borough of Brentwood but the principal focus of our outreach is our fringe people and those who live in the vicinity of the church. We are very happy to be working in cooperation in mission with a number of churches through Brentwood and District Evangelical Fellowship (BADEF) and Churches Together in Brentwood (CTB), and with the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust. Members of the church have taken active roles in all these organisations for many years.

Thought for the week!

Those who cannot forgive break the bridge over which they must pass.

If you forgive others the wrongs they have done you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. Matthew 6: 14 (Good News, 2011)

Last Sunday was filled with sadness and joy as we said goodbye to Annette, who was moving closer to her family. The joy came from welcoming Omega, Paige and Lawrie as our latest Church members. Click on the photos for more information.

Thought for the week!

Sometimes we are so busy adding up our troubles that we forget to count our blessings.

I will remember your great deeds, Lord; I will recall the wonders you did in the past. I will think about all that you have done; I will meditate on all your mighty acts. Psalms 77: 11/12 (Good News, 2011)

Thought for the day!

In order to receive the direction from God you must be able to receive the correction from God.

My child, pay attention when the Lord corrects you, and do not be discouraged when He rebukes you. Because the Lord corrects everyone He loves, and punishes everyone He accepts as His child. Hebrews 12: 5b,6 (Good News, 2011)

Fake account

If you are following Brentwood Baptist Church, please can I ask you to check your list of friends?
In your list of friends, if you find the church logo of four different coloured shapes in roughly a square, followed by the name "Derek Saxby", it is a fake account. Therefore, please can I ask you to delete it?
I have reported the issue to FB, and it appears they've taken the account down. I wanted to let everyone know about the situation, and I have also changed the password.
If you want to follow Brentwood Baptist Church, please go to the home page and click follow from there, and you will be assured of the correct link.

Derek

Thought for the week!

Forget yourself for others, and others will not forget you!

Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets. Matthew 7:12 (Good News, 2011)

Thought for the week!

People know what you are by what they see, not by what they hear.

In the same way, your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 16 (Good News, 2011)

Thought for the week!

When God measures a person, He puts the tape around the heart instead of the head.

I do not judge as people judge. They look at the outward appearance, but I look at the heart. 1 Samuel 16: 7b (Good News, 2011)

Thought for the week!

Be more concerned with what God thinks about you than what people think about you.

Peter and the other apostles replied, "We must obey God, not men." Acts 5: 29 (Good News, 2011)

Thought for the week!

Jesus is a friend who walks in when the world has walked out.

I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world! John 16: 33 (Good News, 2011)
