Breast Cancer Now! Charity

It's that time of year, when I tidy my house, add some extra tables and chairs and invite you all to join me for breakfast and help raise funds for breast cancer research. I'm sure most of you know I lost my sister, Sheila, when she was only 38 to breast cancer and then my sister-in-law, Elaine, when she was only 55. I have lost other friends over the years to the same wicked, indiscriminate disease, and am grateful everyday that I was lucky enough to survive my brush with it. I have friends now undergoing the horrendous, but life saving, treatments like chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and know that the research into this disease is their best chance of survival.
The breakfast, as many of you will know has grown to a very pink event where everyone is welcome.
So, 22 years on, and 16 years cancer clear, I am pleased to say....
Breakfast will be cooking again!
Come to mine, have breakfast, and donate towards Breast Cancer Research.
Meet friends, bring friends, make friends.
It will be lovely to see you at my 21st breakfast (pandemic stopped play in 2020)!
Let's help make a future free from fear of breast cancer. I was lucky; my sister, sister-in-law and other friends not so. Still so much research needed, please join us and raise funds. At mine - pm if you don't know where I live!!!

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL
3/4 December
Looking forward to seeing lots of new ideas but for now- some photos of trees from past festivals ...
As you can see they can be any shape or design - could you create one to represent your family, hobby, business or favourite charity? Entry forms at the back of church with more information.

On Saturday 3 December we will be holding a Christmas Tree Festival in church.
The church will be open all day so you can see the trees and maybe bid on one! There will be refreshments and biscuit decorating, as well as some craft stalls selling homemade gifts.

We still have spaces both for anyone who would like to enter a tree or who might like a stall.

This year the Harvest charity which as a congregation we chose to support is Changing Pathways. They are a local domestic abuse charity working in South Essex providing confidential support to individuals subjected to domestic abuse and stalking. They provide safe accommodation for women and children, counselling services and their community support team provide help at their outreach centre in Basildon or other community sites. If you would like to support Changing Pathways please place donations into the coloured envelopes provided at the Sunday church services, thank you.
