The choir is currently enjoying a well earned post Christmas break after a busy term. Many thanks to those who gave their time and effort to help Advent and Christmas go so well. We are looking forward to getting back to singing again with our Lay Clerks kicking the year off with an 11am Eucharist and 3:30pm Evensong on January 5th. From all of us, Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!

Our Eucharist this Sunday saw the baptism and confirmation of choral scholar Carwyn and his mother Angharad, who have now taken the next step in their journey of faith.

The Bishop also presented the Archbishop of Wales' Award for Church Music to three of our Lay Clerks for outstanding commitment to the Cathedral Choir. Many thanks to Robert, Colin and Richard for all they have given us over the years.

Here is a performance of our own Carwyn Whomsley's fabulous Nunc Dimittis, recorded after the Sunday evening mass at St. Michael's Church, Munich. The esteemed composer was delighted to have his parents present, and just listen to that acoustic!

The Lay Clerks and Choral Scholar have enjoyed their time in Munich, and are now looking forward to being home. Yesterday they sang two services at Erlösekirche and church of St. Michael. On Saturday they sang Byrd's mass for 4 voices and assorted pieces at Kloster Andechs, before an evening concert at St. Johannes Heidhausen.

Our thanks again to the wonderful Sopranos from Münchener Bach-Chor, and everyone who welcomed us so kindly. We hope to be back soon.
