The diocesan Mothers' Union gathered at Brecon Cathedral this afternoon for a Songs of Praise service marking the organisation's 150th anniversary.

The address was given by Rev'd Mark Williams, diocesan MU chaplain. The Province of Wales MU is marking the anniversary with a focus on peace and reconciliation through its partnership with the Community of the Cross of Nails — and during the service, diocesan president Gill Knight was presented with a Cross of Nails by Kate Massey, Canon for Arts and Reconciliation at Coventry Cathedral.

Shoreline: Exploring Faith by the Sea!

We are launching our new seeker friendly course for the spiritually curious to explore Christian faith through gentle practices in outdoor settings at Port Eynon and Oxwich Bay, using both beach and woodland contexts.

Free, one-hour sessions, starting at 7pm and running over four weeks, following a simple and repeatable rhythm.

The language is deliberately neutral and welcoming, with no insider jargon.

As the evening light settles over the shoreline, we’ll walk together along the beach, making space for reflection, conversation, and stillness beside the sea.

We are encouraging people to come as they are to walk, reflect, listen, and wonder - we’ll also be heading to St Illtyd’s and St Cattwg’s for a hot drink at the end of each session for our reflections.

• June 18 — Longing & Wonder: spiritual curiosity
• June 25 — In the Storm: what anchors us?
• July 2 — Belonging: a space where everyone is invited
• July 9 — Calling: an invitation to walk further

Each year we gather at Swansea Minster to remember the courage and sacrifice of those who served in the Falklands War. It was a moving service once again, with the Falklands flag proudly flying as we honoured their legacy together.

This is an annual act of remembrance, and everyone is warmly welcome to join us. We look ahead to next year’s service, marking the 45th anniversary – a particularly special occasion to come together in reflection, gratitude and hope.
