⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 MUHARRAM 2026 – THE MONTH OF ALLAH 1ST MUHARRAM 2026: BEGINNING OF THE ISLAMIC NEW YEAR! 🎊

▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 THE ISLAMIC HIJRI CALENDAR:

🔲🪻The Islamic Calendar is a lunar calendar – that is, it is marked by the moon’s orbit of Earth. It is also known as the Hijri Calendar because the Hijri years (corresponding with the year 622 CE), begin from the year in which the hijrah (migration) of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), from Makkah to Medina took place. Year 1 Hijri marked the establishment of the first Islamic state in Medina and therefore holds significance for Muslims. It was actually the Caliph ‘Umar bin al-Khattab who instituted the Hijrah as the first Islamic Hijri year.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 WHEN IS THE ISLAMIC NEW YEAR 2026❓️

🔲🎊 The 1st Muharram and beginning of the hijri new year will occur on Tuesday 16th June 2026, depending on the sighting of the moon).

🔲🌙 Each year, the beginning of the Islamic New Year is determined by the sighting of the Moon. The entire calendar and it’s religious and notable days are organised in line with the lunar calendar, and so moves forward approximately 11-12 days each year, while the Gregorian calendar runs on the solar year.

🔲🪻 In Islam, the beginning of a new day begins at sunset time. Therefore, the first day of the Islamic New Year technically begins at sunset time on the 15th June until sunset time on the 16th June 2026 (subject to the sighting of the moon).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ISLAMIC NEW YEAR OF 1ST OF THE ISLAMIC MONTH OF MUHARRAM❓️

🔲🎊 While there are no prescribed days of worship for Muslims to observe on the 1st of Muharram, or hijri new year. Muslims may use it as a time to reflect on the journey and struggle of our final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the Muslims of his time. Many sacrifices and much hardship was endured in the lead up to the establishment of the first Islamic government and city, and around the Muslim world, it marks the beginning of the year and people’s annual plans.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 HOW IS THE ISLAMIC NEW YEAR CELEBRATED❓️

🔲🪻 There are no set customs or requirements for celebrating the 1st of Muharram Hijri new year, however, since Muharram is one of the sacred months ordained by Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala), when good acts are multiplied in reward, it is an opportune time for Muslims to incorporate acts of sadaqah Jariyah (continuous Charity), nafl (voluntary) prayers, fasting and the Noble Qur’an recitation. The Islamic New Year is also a public holiday in many Muslim countries, and families use it as an opportunity to meet and reach out to loved ones, and to strengthen ties of kinship.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 VIRTUES OF THE ISLAMIC NEW YEAR.

🔲 🎊 The beginning of the Islamic New Year is a time for reflection, commemoration and gaining Allah Almighty’s nearness. One of the greatest virtues of the Islamic New Year is that it offers the opportunity for deep reflection.

🔲🪻 It’s a time to reflect on the last Islamic year in terms of decisions we made, our good and bad deeds, changes in our character and how well we think we have fulfilled the rights of Allah and sought to seek His pleasure.

🔲🌙 We should use this as a basis to make improvements to our lives in order to become closer to Allah Almighty.

🔲🎊 One of the most important things to reflect upon is our good and bad qualities- and we should work to correct anything in our manners and character that may be delaying us from gaining Allah’s pleasure.

🔲🪻 In addition, as we reflect upon the hardships that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his family were faced with, and the sacrifices they made to ensure that Islam reached us, the Islamic New Year is a time to show gratitude for being Muslim and having the gift of Islam which illuminates our lives.

🔲🌙 Send the gift of recitations of Salawat, durood, prayers, salutations, our final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as a gift on this special day.

🔲🎊 Surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and day are signs for people of understanding, those who remember Allah while standing, sitting or reclining, and reflect in the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): “Our Lord! You have not created this in vain. Glory to you! Save us, then, from the chastisement of the Fire!” (The Noble Qur'an chapter Surah Ali 'Imran 3:190-191).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 WHAT IS HIJRAH SHARIF?

🔲🪻 The Hijrah Sharif was the migration of our final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from city Makkah to city Madinah in the year 622 CE.

🔲🌙 It marks the beginning of the Islamic Calendar as it was such a significant event for the preservation of Islam.

🔲🎊 The final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) migrated to city Madina to escape brutal oppression and opposition in city Makkah.

🔲🪻 The final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was accompanied by his beloved companion Abu Bakr (R.A).

🔲🌙 During the Hijra (migration) Sharif the final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), asked his beloved cousin Iman Ali ibn Abu Talib (R.A) to stay behind and return the possessions of all those who had entrusted them to him, ensuring that everything was returned to his enemies (Ibn Hashim), demonstrating his trustworthiness.

🔲🎊 I saw in a dream that I was emigrating from (city) Makkah to a land in which there are date palms, and I thought that it was Al-Yamamah or Hajar, but it turned out to be (city) Madinah, Yathrib. (Hadith Bukhari).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 WHAT HAPPENED ON 1ST MUHARRAM IN ISLAM❓️

🔲🪻 The first day of Muharram marks the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar, known as the Hijri calendar.

🔲🌙 The Hijri (migration) calendar was initiated during the leadership of the second Caliph, Umar ibn al-Khattab, in the year 622 CE (1 AH – After Hijra), to mark the migration (Hijra) our final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from city Makkah to city Medina. The migration occurred on the 1st of Muharram, establishing a new era in Islamic history.

🔲🎊 This event was prompted by increasing persecution faced by Muslims in Mecca and marked a turning point in Islamic history. The Hijra (migration) not only ensured the safety of the final most beloved Prophet Muhammad and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his followers but also allowed Islam to flourish in city Medina, ultimately leading to the establishment of the first Islamic state.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟣⚪️🌙 WHAT TO DO ON THE ISLAMIC NEW YEAR OF 1ST OF MUHARRAM❓️

🔲🎊 The first day of the Islamic new year of 1st of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar, holds significance in Islam as it marks the beginning of the new Islamic year. There are no specific religious obligations or rituals prescribed for the first day of Muharram.

🔲🪻May Allah accept our good deeds from the past year. Happy Islamic New Year! 🎊🌙

⚫️🔲🔵🟡📜📌 FABRICATION “BEGOTTEN AND SON” IS A CORRUPTION INTO BIBLICAL SCRIPTURE?

▪️▪️▪️

🔲📜 “Chosen One & Servant of God” mistranslated as “Son of God.”

🔲 “Allah chooses Prophet’s and Messenger's from angels and from men. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer.” (The Noble Qur'an 22:75).

🔲 Muslims believe Jesus (Esa/Esus, “No letter “J” in Aramaic” so Esus/Esa PBUH) was the Chosen Messenger of Allah, sent to guide his people — not God Himself.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟡📌 John 1:34 (NIV):

🔲 “I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.” (John 1:34 NIV).

🔲 Greek term used: Υἱὸς Θεοῦ - translated “Chosen One.""

🔲 John 3:16: the same Greek word “Υἱὸς Θεοῦ — chosen” used here as in John 1:34 so verse should translate as:

🔲📌 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only (born miraculously without father) Chosen One (Υἱὸς Θεοῦ — chosen), that whoever believes (follows) him (as a servant/prophet) should not perish but have everlasting life (Paradise).”

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🔵📌 CHRISTIAN SCHOLARS ACKNOWLEDGE BIBLICAL CORRUPTION.

🔲 The Revised Standard Version (RSV) Preface states that the King James Version had “grave defects” and required revision after discovery of older manuscripts.

🔲📜 RSV Bible Preface.

🔲🟡📌 RSV scholars stated:

🔲 Older manuscripts revealed serious textual issues requiring correction and revision.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🔵📌 TRINITY VERSE REMOVED.

🔲 1 John 5:7 — often cited for Trinity — was removed in the RSV by Christian scholars because it was considered an interpolation/addition absent from older manuscripts.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟡📌 THE NOBLE QUR'AN CLARIFIES JESUS (PBUH).

🔲“The Messiah, son of Mary, was only a messenger…”
(Quran 5:75)

🔲 “(Jesus, Esa said: Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet.” (The Noble Qur'an 19:30).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🔵📌 Jesus Called “Servant” in Bible!

🔲 “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has glorified His servant Jesus.” (Acts 3:13 RSV).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲🟡📌 ISLAMIC BELIEF:

🔲 All Prophets and Messenger's — including Iesa Jesus (peace be upon him) — were righteous servants and messengers of Allah calling humanity to worship One God alone.

📚 بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم 📚

🔲⚪️🌿 "Bismillah ir Rahmaan ir Raheem." (In the name of Allah the most Compassionate most Merciful).

🔲 The Day of Arafat in 2026 falls on Tuesday 26th of May 2026 (9th of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH).

⛰️🏔⛰️🏔⛰️

🔲⚪️🪺🌿 DAY OF ARAFAH.

🪺 يوم_عرفة 🪺

🔲 Imagine a day so special, so blessed, that it's better than any day of the year.

🔲⛰️ What is this day?

🔲 It is the Day of Arafah the ninth day in the last month in Islamic calendar (9th Dhu al-Hijjah ).

🔲 In this day Hajji's pilgrims gather in Mount of Arafah ask Allah for sincere forgiveness.

🔲 Just like Laylatul-Qadr (night of power in Ramadan) is the greatest night of the year).

🔲 The Day of Arafah is the greatest day of the year in the sight of Allah.

⛰️🏔⛰️🏔⛰️

🔲⚪️🪺🌿 The Day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah) is one of the greatest days in Islam. It is the day when pilgrims (Hajj's) stand at Mount Arafat during Hajj (pilgrimage), and for Muslims not performing Hajj (pilgrimage), it is a day of fasting, repentance, du‘a, dhikr, and worship.

⛰️🏔⛰️🏔⛰️

🔲⚪️🪺🌿 Why the Day of Arafah is so Special❓️

🔲⛰️ 1. Allah perfected the religion on this day!

🔲 Allah revealed: “This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.”

📚 (The Noble Qur’an chapter Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:3).

🔲 This Noble Qur'an's ayah verse was revealed on the Day of Arafah during the Farewell Hajj (pilgrimage) of the final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad ﷺ (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

📚 Hadith reference: (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 45 & Sahih Muslim, Hadith 3017).

🔲⚪️🪺🌿 2. Allah swears by this day (Arafah) in the Noble Qur'an.

🔲 In the Noble Qur'an Allah says to us: “By the witnessing day and the witnessed day.”

📚 (The Noble Qur’an chapter Surah Al-Buruj 85:3).

🔲 Many Islamic scholars explained that:

1️⃣“The witnessing day” = Friday.

2️⃣ “The witnessed day” = Day of Arafah.

📚 (Reference source: Jami‘ al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 3339 (hasan according to scholars).

⛰️🏔⛰️🏔⛰️

🔲⚪️🪺🌿 2. The Day of Arafah It is one of the sacred and best days❗️

🔲 In the Glorious Qur'an Allah says to us: “By the dawn. And (by) ten nights.”

🔲 Hadith: The final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad ﷺ (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

🔲 “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”

🔲 “Fasting the Day of Arafah, I hope from Allah, expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.”

📚 (Reference Source: Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1162).

🔲🪺🌿 This means:

1️⃣ Minor sins of the past year are forgiven.

2️⃣ Minor sins of the coming year are forgiven.

🔲🪺🌿 Islamic Scholars clarified:

1️⃣ Major sins require sincere tawbah (repentance).

2️⃣ Rights of people must still be returned.

🔲🪺🌿 Fasting for Pilgrims:

🔲 Pilgrims at Arafah are generally encouraged not to fast so they remain strong for worship and du‘a (supplication, prayer).

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷💫 JUMU’AH FRIDAY ROUTINE FOR WOMEN. 🕌

▪️▪️▪️

🔲🕌 One of the many blessings of our faith is that there is always a special day in our week where we can earn divine points and push ourselves to boost our productivity: the day of Jumu’ah (or our mini-Eid!), which bears so many opportunities to reap rewards.

🔲🌿 The final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

🔲🪻 “Whoever takes a bath on a Jumu’ah Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Jumu’ah Friday.” (Sunan Ibn Majah).

🔲🌸 Yet, so often I meet sisters, professionals and mothers who find it a battle to be able to have a smooth Friday routine where they can get the best out of this rewarding day.

🔲🌴 I recommend a routine for your Jumu’ah Friday (which you can adjust according to your local timings for sunrise, sunset, work, school, etc.) to help overcome some of the common challenges many sisters face, either at home or at the mosque. For our sisters who are blessed enough to have Friday as a day off (as is the case in most Muslim countries), you can still follow this routine, but of course you won’t have to factor in work or school runs! Instead, take this extra time to complete any important to-dos, but plan your day around the precious events of the day of Jumu’ah Friday.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 JUMU’AH FRIDAY ROUTINE:

🔲🕌 At dawn – Wake up for Fajr.

🔲🕌 06:30 – Recite Surat al-Kahf (at least first and last ten verses if you’re pressed for time).

🔲🕌 07:30 – Shower and eat breakfast.

🔲🕌 08:30 – Get kids off to school or get ready for work.

🔲🕌 09:00 – Leave or arrive for work or complete household duties/tasks on to-do list.

🔲🕌 10:00 – Pray two rak’ah Salatul Duha and go back to work or other duties.

🔲🕌 12:30 – Put on your nice Friday outfit.

🔲🕌 At Dhuhr time – Head to masjid (avoid using a pram if mosque has little space) or prepare a quiet space at home.

🔲🕌 13:00 – 14:00 – Jumu’ah at mosque or Dhuhur at home in a quiet room.

🔲🕌 14:00 – 15:00 – Lunch with family or with the local sisters; or head back to work; or school run.

🔲🕌 Last hour before Maghrib – Make du’a during the hour of assured acceptance or sa’at istijabah (fit in Surat al-Kahf if you haven’t read it yet).

🔲🕌 After Maghrib Salaah – Family time for reflection on Friday sermon khutbah.

🔲🕌 Of course, with hectic work schedules, kids and never-ending household chores, the day is not always this smooth. Here are my tips to make your Jumu’ah blessed and enjoyable:

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 1. DUMP THE BAGS, BE BAG-LITE.

🔲🌴 Quite often, I have seen sisters take their shopping bags with them to Jumu’ah and it takes up lots of space that could otherwise be used for prayer. Try your best to go to the masjid ‘bag-lite’. When I go to the mosque, I try to take a small bag with only a few essentials. I also keep my shoes in a carrier bag, which makes it quick and easy for me to slip out after Jumu’ah instead of trying to find my shoes in that rush after prayer and avoid losing time especially when I have to go back to the office on a Jumu’ah Friday afternoon.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 2. GET THE KIDS READY.

🔲🕌 We love to bring our children to the masjid to pray on Jumu’ah's Friday's to show them great examples of community and sisterhood, and expose them to good environments. However, children, especially when they begin to understand right from wrong, should be taught about the special ‘etiquettes’ they need to have in the mosque. Of course, children can inevitably cause disturbance, so teaching them masjid etiquette early will lead to a peaceful Jumu’ah Friday for you and for others. They should even be treated with a gift for their good behaviour, so it instills a sense of excitement for the upcoming Jumu’ah Friday. Additionally, as much as you are encouraged to bring the kids to the mosque, plan your trip beforehand or if suitable, gain the reward of praying at home, especially if your local masjid does not have the facility of a ‘women with children’ section.

🔲🌸 Remember, my dear sisters have the luxury of Jumu’ah Friday not being an obligation for them as it was narrated that the final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

🔲🪻 “The Friday Jumu'ah prayer in congregation is a necessary duty for every Muslim, with four exceptions; a slave, a woman, a boy, and a sick person.” (Al-Albani).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 3. FIT IN RECITING THE NOBLE QUR'AN'S CHAPTER SURAH AL-KAHF. 📖

🔲🌿 There are many virtues and lessons to be gained from the Noble Qur'an's chapter Surah Al-Kahf.

🔲🌼 The final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

🔲🪴 “Whoever reads chapter Surah al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah (Friday), will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.” (Al-Haakim).

🔲🪻 Mums and working sisters may find it easier to ensure they recite the Noble Qur’an in the early morning before the kids are up, or the manic work to-dos during the day pile up. Use this time to also reflect on your week and use it to spiritually boost you through to the next Jumu’ah Friday. For sisters who are menstruating, you can still benefit from the next two tips.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 4. USE THE LAST HOUR FOR DUA, SUPPLICATION, PRAYER.

🔲🌸 That last hour before Maghrib on a Friday is very important as it is known as a time when duas are accepted (sa’at istijabah).

🔲🌿 The final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

🔲🪻 “Jumu’ah Friday is twelve hours in which there is no Muslim slave who asks Allah for something but He will give it to him, so seek it in the last hour after ‘Asr.” (Sunan an-Nasa’i).

🔲🌼 So, plan your most desired duas and get away from the desk or kitchen for 10-15 minutes to ask Allah for all your needs during this precious time.

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 5. HAVE A SPECIAL FAMILY JUMU’AH FRIDAY NIGHT.

🔲🪔 Finally, the end of the week is an opportunity for all the family to come together and catch up, especially as the week may go by with everyone being busy. After Maghrib Salaah prayer is a good chance to reflect on the messages heard by your family members during the khutbah (Sermon); it may even be that various members of your family went to different mosques and heard different messages, so this is a great chance to share these important gems with each other.

🔲🌺 Remember, there are many other recommended sunan acts that sisters can perform during the blessed day of Jumu’ah, whether or not you can pray. These include having a bath, removing hair from the body and cutting nails, wearing your best clothes, using miswaak and abundance of salawaat, durood, salutations, blessings, prayers upon our final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

🔲🌼 In particular, incorporate recieting salawaat, durood, salutations, blessings, prayer's as soon as you wake up, up until Maghrib, by uttering the words under your breath throughout the day. There are innumerable virtues of salawaat, durood, salutations, blessings, prayers and some easy salawaat, durood, salutations, blessings, prayes to recite on our final most beloved Prophet and Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (ﷺ) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are:

🔲🪴 Saying “sallallahu alaihi wa sallam” after mention of his name.

🔲🪻 Reciting “Allahumma salli wa sallim ‘alaa Nabiyyina Muhammad (O Allah send Your praise, prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) recommended as part of your daily morning and evening adhkaar, dhikr, zikr (reciting the words of Remembrance of Allah).

▪️▪️▪️

⚫️🔲💙🤍🩷 RECITING THE BEST SALAWAAT DUROOD, PRAYER ON JUMU’AH FRIDAY: DUROOD E IBRAHEEMI.

🔲🌼 English transliteration: “Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin, wa ‘ala ‘ali Muhammadin, k**a sallaita ‘ala ‘ali Ibrahima, innaka Hamidum Majid. Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammadin, wa ‘ala ‘ali Muhammadin, k**a barakta ‘ala ‘ali Ibrahima, innaka Hamidum Majid.

🔲🌺 English translation: "O Allah, exalt the mention of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as you exalted the family of Ibrahim. You are Praised and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed the family of Ibrahim. You are Praised and Glorious." (Al Bukhari and Muslim).

🔲🌸 So these are the top tips to incorporate into your Friday routine, making it a blessed and productive day Inn Shaa Allah.
