The news of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II comes
with deep sadness. We unite in offering deepest condolences and prayers for His Majesty King Charles III and the whole Royal Family at this time.

We join with the people of our nation in mourning her loss and pray for those involved in making preparations for the funeral. We pray for comfort and strength for the whole nation as we join together to mourn the passing of Her Majesty the Queen and reflect on her life well lived.

Her Majesty has been a steadfast presence and rock of our nation for more than 70 years. We're so grateful for her reign and the value she placed on the role of Churches in the fabric of our nation, and for her impeccable example of steadfast faith in Jesus Christ.

Having reigned for over 70 years, today we reflect on the enduring legacy of Her Majesty the Queen. As monarch, she had often spoken about her Christian faith, particularly in times when our nation experienced difficulty or hardship, and how it had strengthened her and been a guide and source of hope during her entire reign.

If you're looking for a space to be with others to contemplate the events of this past week, you're very welcome to come to Victoria Hall for our church service this Sunday.

LifeTotz Xtra Toddler group starts again tomorrow. We use Makaton Signing with the rhymes, story and Bible story. We'll meet at Littlemoor Park gate on Park Lane at 10am. All children under 5 and their parents/carers are welcome to join us.

A witty video for Valentines Day....
It may make more sense with a little background...the history of Valentines day is a little uncertain but possibly remembers three different priests called Valentine who were all martyred before the 4th Century AD. Each Valentine has a different legend associated with them but each were executed by Rome. One of the Valentines was beheaded for continuing to perform marriage ceremonies after the Emperor of Rome decided single men made better soldiers and therefore banned weddings. Another was executed for helping Christians escape harsh Roman prisons and perhaps sent a letter to his young love from prison signed, 'From your Valentine'. We can't be too sure of these facts but we can be sure of another priest, Jesus, who died on a cross (the symbol worn on the necklace of many and the gift the girl in the video receives) to demonstrate his gutsy love for you and me!
