Following reports of Islamic literature at JTI Barkerend Road Masjid, the Trustees of Jamiyat Tabligh-ul-Islam met on Sunday and arranged for volunteers to attend on Tuesday to organise the Islamic literature in a respectful and dignified manner.

Further work will continue at the mosque in the coming days and months, in shā’ Allāh. While some misinformation is circulating on social media, the Trustees take their responsibility to safeguard the Qur’an and Islamic literature very seriously.

The Trustees and members of Jamiyat Tabligh-ul-Islam are actively working on the situation at Barkerend Road Mosque.

The funeral prayer was led by Peer Syed Muhammad Ahsan Shah. May Allah grant Haji Saab the highest place in Jannah.

Today, the Janazah of Haji Malik Muhammad Saddique was held at JTI Hilton Road Masjid, marking a deeply emotional moment for the community. The Masjid was filled to capacity—the main hall, upstairs, and downstairs—reflecting the immense respect and love for Haji Sahib. The Janazah was led by the honourable Shaykh Syed Muhammad Ahsan Shah Sb.

Within just two weeks, the community has lost two pillars— Haji Malik Saddique and Haji Bostan— whose dedication and service shaped the Masjid’s life and growth.

Haji Malik Saddique was a founding Namazi and a cornerstone of the Masjid’s development. He served as chairman, helped acquire the community centre car park, and remained actively involved throughout his life. His family generously supported gatherings, donated water, and gifted hampers to the Imams, especially during Ramadan and Khatam-e-Qur’an. He also donated regularly as Īsāl-e-Sawāb for his late wife and made du‘a for his children, who were raised with strong values and excellent upbringing.

Haji Sahib was known for his smart and dignified appearance, gentle speech, and humble character. Whoever met him witnessed a person of grace and integrity. He was also a dear friend, and his kindness will always be remembered.

The Masjid management thanks everyone who attended and volunteered during this difficult time, especially with two Ta‘ziyat gatherings. Special gratitude to those who helped in the car park in freezing weather—your efforts are deeply appreciated.

Given the upcoming school closures and holidays, mosque committees should anticipate higher attendance for prayers, particularly Friday prayers, as more people will be on vacation.

Please take additional precautions to minimise disruption to our neighbors. Bring your children and families. Park properly, use the provided footwear racks, and arrive early to participate fully in the Khutbah, which is as important as the prayer itself.

May Allah protect us and our communities, Ameen.
