𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧 𝗔𝗟 𝗭𝗔𝗛𝗥𝗔 𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗝𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗖𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗦 𝗠𝗣
On Thursday 27 August, Madinat al Zahra was honoured to host a reception for Judith Cummins MP, Member of Parliament for Bradford South and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons.
Judith was warmly welcomed by members of the Core Executive team, including Shaykh Muhammad Afzal Saeedi (Director); Seerat Ali Khan (Head of MQI Trust); Ifra Kauser (General Secretary); Rizwan Rehman (Finance); Khizar Ghafoor Qadri; and lead Architect, Mr Al-Samarraie.
During the visit, the team presented the plans for the iconic Madinat Al Zahra development, which will include a place of worship, multi-purpose sports and function facilities, a rooftop garden, and an education and training complex.
The project represents a unique and ambitious addition to the Great Horton community. At its heart is a vision of community cohesion, inclusion and opportunity, bringing together people of all faiths and none through intergenerational activities, education, collaboration and initiatives designed to nurture and empower the next generation.
The team also highlighted the wider social and economic potential of Madinat al Zahra, including opportunities for collaboration across key sectors such as healthcare, policing, schools, universities and the voluntary sector. The development has the potential to become an important community and partnership hub within the Bradford District, delivering long-term benefits for local residents and organisations.
Following the reception, Judith Cummins MP visited the site to see the development first-hand and gain a deeper understanding of the vision behind the project.
Judith welcomed the development and praised the organisation’s initiative, ambition and potential. She expressed her strong interest in supporting the project and exploring opportunities for future collaboration, recognising that through mutual dialogue, partnership and shared commitment, Madinat al Zahra could become an unprecedented asset for the Bradford District.
