Are we living as part-time Muslims? A wake-up call on our daily priorities.

While many maintain a belief in the afterlife, daily habits often mirror a materialistic worldview that prioritises leisure, late mornings, and convenience over spiritual discipline.

A powerful reality check on the part-time approach to faith. When complacency creeps into our routines, like neglecting morning prayers in favour of breakfast outings, we have to ask ourselves whether this passive approach to faith is enough to sustain a meaningful connection with the divine?

Is our faith becoming just a name? A powerful reminder on daily worship.

The prophecy of a time when Islām remains only in name is unfolding before our eyes. While our masjids grow more beautiful with grand architecture, the rows for daily prayer remain thin. This reflection challenges the modern contradiction of having the Qur’ān on our shelves and phones, yet neglecting to read it, while spending endless hours scrolling through social media. It serves as a stark call to action to look beyond the external beauty of faith and return to the substance of daily practice and connection with the Qur’ān.

Are you just appeasing yourself with your faith?

Sometimes the most uncomfortable truths are the ones we need to hear the most. It is easy to pick and choose which parts of faith to follow while convincing ourselves we are on the right path. This anecdote about a passionate speaker and a congregation highlights the dangerous comfort found in selective practice. It challenges the common habit of doing just enough to feel like a good believer while neglecting essential commitments. Reflect on the difference between true devotion and the illusion of righteousness.
