🌍 Living Faith in a Diverse Society 🤝

We had the final session of our Faiths Connect series as we gathered at Masjid Ayesha to explore the theme “Living Faith in a Diverse Society.”

It was a privilege to welcome Imams, Reverends, members of our local mosques, churches, and the wider community for an evening of meaningful discussion, mutual learning, and genuine friendship. Together, we reflected on what it means to live faithfully in today’s diverse society through both the Islamic and Christian narratives, recognising our shared values of compassion, justice, service, and respect for one another.

Over the past four months, the Muslim and Christian communities in Shipley have journeyed together through a series of conversations, listening to one another, building trust, and exploring practical ways we can work together to strengthen our communities. These sessions have not simply been about dialogue—they have been about laying the foundations for lasting relationships and meaningful collaboration.

This is not the end of the journey, but the beginning. The relationships formed and ideas shared throughout this programme will serve as a foundation stone for many future initiatives that will, God willing, bring lasting benefit to our local communities.

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, hosted, and supported this initiative. Together, we have demonstrated that by understanding one another better, we can serve our communities better.

We look forward to continuing this journey of friendship, cooperation, and shared service.

Alhamdulillah, we had an amazing start to our 6-week Fiqh course with a great turnout and engaging discussions throughout the session.

In our first session, we explored What is Fiqh? — understanding its meaning and importance in guiding our daily lives as Muslims. We also covered the five key rulings in Islam: wajib (obligatory), mustahabb (recommended), mubāh (permissible), makrūh (disliked), and harām (forbidden), helping us better understand how our actions are classified in the sight of Allah.

A strong foundation was set, and we’re looking forward to building on this in the coming weeks, in shā’ Allāh.

The first Faiths Connect session was truly amazing! We had a great turnout, with attendees from different backgrounds coming together in a welcoming and positive atmosphere.

The presenters delivered an excellent and engaging presentation, setting the tone for meaningful conversations. Our small group discussions were especially insightful, as we explored practical ways we can work together to support and uplift our communities.

A fantastic start to what promises to be a very beneficial series — we’re looking forward to the upcoming sessions!

See you all on our next session on Thursday 14th May 2026 at IHYA COMMUNITY HUB 82 OTLEY ROAD, SHIPLEY, BD18 3SA

Ramadhan Quran Khatam 2026

Alhamdulillāh, a beautiful and blessed milestone for Masjid Ayesha 🌙

We are honoured to announce the completion of two full Khatams of the Qur’an during this blessed month of Ramadhan, recited across two Tarāwīh Jamā‘ahs. A truly remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication of our Huffādh and the community who stood night after night in prayer.

We were also privileged to host our respected guest speaker, Shaykh M***i Asad Waqas Khalil, who delivered a powerful and heartfelt reminder, inspiring us all to strengthen our connection with the Qur’an beyond Ramadhan.

May Allah ﷻ accept every letter recited, every prayer performed, and every effort made. May He make the Qur’an a light in our hearts, a guide in our lives, and a means of intercession for us on the Day of Judgment. Āmīn.

🤲 Please remember all those who contributed in your du‘ās — the Imāms, organisers, volunteers, and every attendee.
