We were one of the first Eco Churches among Quaker Meetings back in 2016 and the first church in Bradford on Avon to gain a bronze award, followed by silver in 2018. Just used environmentally friendly paint in our latest redecoration project, and our garden is buzzing with many kinds of bees and butterflies. It could do with a bit of rain though!

Our neighbours in Bristol have become the second British Area Quaker Meeting to apologise for their role in enslavement. And one of our own members continues to be part of the central Reparation Working Group that tries to discern recommendations for reparative action by Quakers in Britain.

Quakers in Bristol have issued a formal apology for their role in the transatlantic trafficking and chattel enslavement of more than 13 million Africans, as part of a growing Quaker movement towards reparation.

This coming Sunday we will be worshipping outdoors in the park near the Tithe Barn. The plan is to start with a round of singing at 10am, then settle for worship at 10.30am. Bring a picnic and stay on for games afterwards if you can. For those who don't wish to brave the (probably fairly warm) weather, the Meeting House will be open for an indoors Meeting for Worship as well.

Well, these are strange times when you feel compelled to sue those who are (at least theoretically) meant to uphold justice.

Bristol Quaker Gaie Delap spent Christmas 2024 and her 78th birthday in prison after authorities failed to find an electronic monitoring tag that fitted her.

"The heart of community" is the title a soon-to-be 9-year old Friend gave his creation at children's meeting today. It consists of a giant leaf, picked up on a walk yesterday by a children's meeting volunteer, that was decorated with colourful petals collected from the ground of our Meeting House garden.
Meanwhile, our monthly teenage meeting next door was discussing conscientious objection, while over 30 adults remained in the main meeting room, joined remotely by 3 other Friends on our big screen.
Incidentally, we were originally planning to hold a Meeting for Learning this afternoon on how to become a thriving community, but this was cancelled at short notice as we're too busy being one.
