A lovely day in the Benefice, starting at Holy Trinity, celebrating Trinity Sunday along with the rededication of our Willis Organ. Great fun; we loved the three joyful organ fanfares played by our Director of Music Martin Cooke in between prayers. Sally made one of her amazing cakes! We also enjoyed the wonderful Benefice Teas at Westwood. Great to see everyone today. Thank you for being with us.

In our Organ Centenary Year, there are concerts and events still to come, beginning with a concert in Holy Trinity generously given by David Halls, Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral, on 12 June at 7.30pm. All welcome. Details on the poster below!

Trinity Sunday, May 31st, is a special day in the Benefice of Bradford on Avon Holy Trinity, Westwood and Wingfield.

This Sunday at 9.30am we gather at Holy Trinity for our Benefice Service and the rededication of our historic Willis Organ following its restoration after flood challenges in 2024.

We give thanks to Martin Cooke, Harrison & Harrison, Derek Funnell, Ecclesiastical Insurance, the Diocese of Salisbury DAC, and all those who have helped bring the organ back to life.

As part of our Organ Centenary Year celebrations, we’re also looking forward to a programme of concerts and events, including an evening recital on 12th June by David Halls, Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral.

All are very welcome to join us as we give thanks, celebrate, and look ahead to an exciting year of worship and music at Holy Trinity.

Tomorrow afternoon we continue our Trinity Sunday celebrations in Westwood with the Benefice Teas! See you at 9.30am at Holy Trinity and also in Westwood at 2pm! 😊

Thank you to the new children and young peoples’ team, Zabé, Clive, Pat and Jo for gathering 19 children and their families for our very first holiday Half term creative workshop. A wonderful morning. Great to see everyone who came along today! We look forward to further holiday workshops in July and August, and to the launch of a very special children’s group for Sundays. Pentecost is one of those beautiful feast days where everything seems to happen at once. Today we celebrated the baptism of Emily with our Sung Eucharist, and rejoiced in the gift of the Holy Spirit: enlivening, strengthening, and encouraging us, and drawing us ever more deeply into the life of Christ. In the waters of baptism, God brings forth new life, and wherever the Holy Spirit comes, people do not remain the same.

Prayers and thanks be to God for the gift of the new day, with fullness and blessing, on this joyful Pentecost Sunday!
