On 5th April, we gathered to celebrate Easter Sunday with our joyful service, Risen and Alive, led by Brian Gennery. This was a special All Age Worship service, bringing together our whole church family to rejoice in the resurrection of Jesus.

We began with the uplifting hymn Christ the Lord is risen today; Alleluia, lifting our voices in praise. Through prayers of adoration, thanksgiving, and repentance, we turned our hearts toward God, before continuing in worship with Now the green blade rises from the buried grain.

Our reading from John 20:1–18 led us into the powerful story of the empty tomb and Mary Magdalene’s encounter with the risen Christ. As we sang Thine be the glory and Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine, we celebrated the hope and victory of Easter.

The reflection on Easter Day reminded us that Jesus is truly risen — alive and present with us today. Our time of intercession included street prayers and the Lord’s Prayer, as we lifted our community and world to God.

We closed with the triumphant hymn I know that my Redeemer lives, proclaiming the living hope we share in Christ.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and for your generous Foodbank donations, which will bless many in our community.

Easter reminds us that no matter how dark things may seem, new life is always possible — because Jesus is risen, and He is alive.

On Friday 3rd April, our Good Friday service, Standing Before the Cross, was led by Revd. Wes Hampton as we gathered in quiet reflection at the foot of the cross.

Beginning with a time of stillness, we prepared our hearts before entering into worship and prayer. Through the reading of John 18:28 – 19:42, we journeyed with Jesus from His trial before Pilate to His crucifixion and burial.
As we sang There is a green hill far away, When I survey the wondrous cross, and My song is love unknown, we were drawn deeper into the story of sacrificial love.

Wes guided us through moments of reflection — The Whip and Nails — helping us to pause and consider the cost of the cross. We also listened to How deep the Father’s love for us by Stuart Townend, allowing the words to speak into the stillness as we reflected on Jesus’ final moments.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and in quiet prayer at home. Sharing in this sacred time reminds us of the depth of God’s love poured out for the world.

If you are carrying burdens or sitting with sorrow, Good Friday reminds us that we are not alone — Christ meets us in the suffering and holds us there in love.

On Sunday 28th March, our Palm Sunday service was led by Doreen Murgatroyd as we reflected on The King Who Comes in Humility.

Our reading was Matthew 21:1–11, alongside the story of The Silly Donkey, where we saw Jesus enter Jerusalem not in power and grandeur, but in gentleness and peace. It’s a powerful reminder that God’s kingdom often looks very different from what we expect, choosing humility over status and love over display.

Doreen helped us explore how Jesus’ choice to ride a donkey shows us a different kind of kingship — one that invites us to follow with open hearts, humility, and trust.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online, your presence makes our community stronger.

If you’re searching for peace or wondering where God is in the quiet moments, remember that He often comes gently, meeting us right where we are.

On Sunday 15th March, our Communion service was led by Revd. Wes Hampton for the fifth Sunday of Lent.

Our readings were Ezekiel 37:1-14, where we saw the valley of dry bones come to life, and John 11:1-45, where Jesus calls Lazarus out of the tomb, powerful reminders that nothing is too far gone for God. We explored how God brings life where it feels lost.

Wes opened the service with a whistle, asking the young people how it works. The answer was simple, breath. Without breath, it makes no sound. In the same way, God’s breath is what brings life into us. Even a whistle only works when breath is blown into it, and in the same way, God’s breath brings us back to life.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online, your presence makes our community stronger.

If you’re feeling empty, tired, or stuck, God is still breathing life into you.

A big thank you to Kate and Helen for leading Sunday School this week.

On 8th March, Brian Gennery led our Lent 3 service, reflecting on the theme “Living Water”.

Through our readings from Exodus 17:1-7 and John 4:5-42, we explored how God provides for us even in the dry and difficult places of life. Just as water was given in the wilderness and Jesus offered living water to the woman at the well, we are reminded that Christ continues to refresh, renew, and sustain us today.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for worship, and those who stayed for the AGM afterwards. Your support and involvement in the life of the church is greatly appreciated.

A special thank you to Ash for gathering and sharing the feedback from our young people - it’s so important that their voices are heard as part of our church community.
