A New Vision for Bowdon Parish

We often think of building as bricks and mortar, but for us, it’s all about people. We are launching a new Vision to focus on what matters most: “Building Faith, Building Fellowship and Building Bridges” - This invites us back to the heart of our calling: to deepen our faith, to know and care for one another more intentionally, and to reach beyond our walls with courage and humility, offering the hope and welcome of Jesus to everyone we meet. Rev. Andrew shares this journey in his letter - a transparent look at where we are and where we feel God is calling us. We pray for our schools, children and teachers as they start a new school year this week. 🙏🏻👩🏻‍🏫🏫🎓🎒
Loving Father God. As a new academic year begins, we pray for our all local schools, for all their staff and pupils. Give your peace and reassurance to all children who are anxious. May friendships be swiftly remade and the new routines soon be familiar, especially for those starting at a new school this term. Thank you for all our dedicated teachers and staff, bless the preparations they have made and give them wisdom, energy, patience and compassion. And may every child and young person be enabled to flourish and grow in knowledge, wisdom and maturity. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Our choir has now returned from their residency at Gloucester
Cathedral after an amazing time away!Rehearsals will resume on Friday 4th September, and the choir will return to the normal pattern of services at St Mary's Church. 🎶⛪️💜

This Sunday we have a whole parish, all-age service at 10am, as it’s the unusual fifth Sunday of the month. Note that all our congregations will join together in the Parish Centre rather than in church this time. Our service will be on the theme of “Thankfulness” and include a celebration of Holy Communion and activities for all ages. Everyone is welcome!

Our choir is having a great week in Gloucester so far. They will have a break today but will be back to rehearsals and singing in the Cathedral again tomorrow til Sunday! 🎶💜⛪️
