The Norman parish church of the parish of St Lawrence, Bourton-on-the-Hill. Built in 1157, St Lawrence was originally dedicated to St Mary. It is a beautiful place of peace and prayer, located in the North Cotswolds. Our page was originally started in an attempt to reunite a bunny rabbit left in church by a visitor with its rightful owner. But sadly this has not yet happened. However the page has proved popular and developed into a small web presence for our historic and welcoming church community.

🎷 Live Music at St. Lawrence Church!

We are delighted to host an afternoon concert featuring The Worcestershire Saxophone Quartet! 🎶

📍 Location: St. Lawrence Church, Bourton on the Hill
📅 Date: Sunday 16th August
⏰ Time: 3:30pm
🎟️ Admission: £15 (includes interval tea, coffee, and cake!)
👶 Children: Free admission

All proceeds will be shared equally between these wonderful performers and the church.

Bring a friend, enjoy some brilliant saxophone music, and sample some delicious interval treats! 🍰☕ We look forward to seeing you there.

🔔 Visiting Bellringers Tomorrow Afternoon 🔔

Please be aware that we will be welcoming a visiting team of bellringers to St Lawrence's tomorrow afternoon (Saturday).

They will be ringing the church bells between 3:15 PM and 4:00 PM. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy the sound of the bells!

Have you ever wanted to visit Blockley Church tower, and learn what it is like to ring the bells? Or would you like to visit a local farm, Old Farm in Dorn, and meet the animals? Tower tours and a bus to Dorn are available free between 12 and 3pm on Sunday at the Community BBQ in the churchyard.

Wraiths and Reckonings

Join Mark Williams and cast members from BBC's Father Brown for an evening of candlelit ghost stories in the atmospheric surroundings of Blockley Church. The event takes place on Saturday 4 July and you can buy tickets on our website, blockleychurch.org.uk.

Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis – both for the main event 7:30-9pm - and for a rather special VIP experience 4:30-5:30pm.

Whether you are celebrating, remembering, or just looking for a welcoming community, we invite you to our special service.

Help us send light to Ukraine! 🕯️🇺🇦

We are collecting old, partially used candles and clean, empty tins to be recycled into brand-new candles for those in need. It’s a small way to make a big difference!

📍 Drop-off point: Collection boxes are located in the Church.
🗓️ Timeline: We’ll be collecting them until mid-March.

Please check your cupboards for any leftovers—every bit helps!

⭐️ This is a gentle service for people who are grieving, sad, going through difficult times or just need to step out everything going on at this time of year.
